Describe any drop in Obama enthusiasm in your area.

In Northern suburbs of Chicago:

2008: Obama intensity overflowing in every direction.

2012: Have NEVER heard enthusiasm expressed for Obama. What I have heard is low-key excuses for Obama or low-key sniping at Romney.

Problem is lack of overt enthusiasm doesn’t mean the Obamites won’t vote for what they now consider the lesser of two evils

I am in Bucks County. There are no Obama signs anywhere even close to his headquarters which is strange.Of the people I asked who they wanted to win 5 said they voted for Obama in 08 and are not going to vote at all this time. The union people I know are all voting Obama.Everybody else is voting their party.I was told by someone knocking on doors for Obama that the race is too close.I was just asked on the phone by the Democrat party who I was voting for and I told her we vote prolife. She just sighed and said Thank You.PS The 5 who are not voting are not happy with his gay marriage stance.Don't hear much about that.

I think she knows very well that she is guiding the Black vote in some areas. She’s a smart lady.

What a great idea for a discussion thread.

There is no doubt that the yells were used for intimidation purposes where I work. These past four years have been basically hell in that regard. Hopefully things will smooth out after Obama leaves office. I don’t see the Blacks that I know as people who would get out and riot, many of them are very angry about the gay marriage thing and seem to be apathetic about Obama this time.

I live in safe-for-Romney Alabama but still I'm surprised how few bumper stickers there are for anybody. Its sad when cars with team logos outnumber cars with political stickers by a factor of 15 to one.

Back in 1964 I would walk home from school along Woodmont Boulevard in Nashville and take bumper sticker polls. About every other car had a sticker. I thought Goldwater would win but did not realize my neighborhood was not bellwether precinct. My SUV and my wife's mini-van are tacky with so many TEA Party, skateboard, and Romney stickers.

The only place I’ve seen a lot of Obama signs has been in Mount Lebanon, a very wealthy community (lots of rich liberals

Most of those are lining Route 19 in the vicinity of Connor Road (where I believe they were all placed by the Central Committee)

I know three people who voted for hussien last time and two of them have finally seen the light. The other, I don’t know. Last time there were lots of hussein bumper stickers in Austin and San Antonio (TX) but I think I’ve seen just one in recent months. There aren’t many Romney bumper stickers or signs either. There were only two R&R on my way to vote today and the guy who usually has giant RAT signs doesn’t have any this time around.

Fairfax, VA. 2012: A couple of weeks ago waiting at a red light, I saw a young couple looking at an Obama sign that someone had apparently placed on their property. As I watched, they talked for a moment, pulled up the sign and dropped it on the ground.

This morning, waiting at the same light, I saw a GIGANTIC ‘VETERANS FOR ROMNEY” sign in the same place. LOL!

Philly burbs, supposedly solid Obama territory, have seen virtually no Obama signs of any sort. Romney signs are everywhere, and am seeing more and more every day. I saw one large Romney sign that had been vandalized by a free speech-loving tolerant liberal. I’m seeing anti-Casey signs like “Casey Kills Jobs” and “Casey + Obama-16 Trillion in Debt”. I have not see a single pro-Casey sign. The real head scratcher was one that read “Democrats for McCain”.

In my neighborhood in 2008 there were quite a few Obama yard signs and I remember several specific houses that displayed them. This year, while Romney signs are not everywhere by any means, Obama signs are nowhere. None. Zero. Zip. Nada.

Far NW Travis county Texas. About 100 R/R signs and a single 0 bummer sign. There are several homes (with the same occupants from 2008) that now sport R/R signs.

I presume you are talking about Facebook.

I have several FB friends indicating support for zero, who I like otherwise. It takes a resolute attitude to ignore them. When I indicated a "Like" for R and R, I'm sure everyone was notified, but beyond that no other political "Like"s by me and certainly no political posts.

FB is not for politics, which is why I spend far more time on FR.

North Central Ct/Western Ma area. Outside a few areas with larger Jewish populations, Very few Obama signs. On houses that had Obama or other Dem signs in 08, most have none or they excluded Obama signs. 99% of Obama bumper stickers are form 08.

Tried to ask a few lib friends why, one blame Bush.

Five minutes ago I was chatting with a truck driver making a delivery to my company. He was telling me that his business was very slow and that all of his customers were waiting until after the election to decide if they would expand, make orders, and hire people.

I could tell from his facial expression that the truck driver KNOWS that if Obama is reelected, the economy will slow and his business will suffer. He seemed apprehensive about an Obama win.

The guy was African-American.

The enthusiasm gap is widening.

NW Montana here. Have yet to see a single Obama yard sign. Lots of signs for the local people who are running for various offices from Governor on down to County Commissioner. Montana went for McCain, but there was a lot of enthusiasm for Obama. Obama car and yard signs were very visible. Most people are trying to avoid talking about this election at all. In 08 I had Obama people in my face about it constantly.
