AP poll: Majority harbor prejudice against blacks

Racial attitudes have not improved in the four years since the United States elected its first black president, an Associated Press poll finds, as a slight majority of Americans now express prejudice toward blacks whether they recognize those feelings or not.

Those views could cost President Barack Obama votes as he tries for re-election, the survey found, though the effects are mitigated by some Americans' more favorable views of blacks.

Racial prejudice has increased slightly since 2008 whether those feelings were measured using questions that explicitly asked respondents about racist attitudes, or through an experimental test that measured implicit views toward race without asking questions about that topic directly.

In all, 51 percent of Americans now express explicit anti-black attitudes, compared with 48 percent in a similar 2008 survey.

Actually, I’m frustrated with people who use race, sex or ethicity as a reason not to hold those in positions of responsibility to account. For fear of EEO charges or being publicly ridiculed by the PC brigade. The military is being greatly damaged by this. Look at the behavior of Casey, Dempsey and now even Petraeus.

According to the majority of the media and the left, Obama should be held to a lesser standard because he is black. That is the attitude that is actually racist.

What do you call it when 95% of blacks vote for Obama?

I didn’t either Joe, I thought we were all past that, and it certainly wasn’t the color of ones skin, but I sure have a lesser opinion of them based on their actions and attitudes the last four years.
Just being honest.

Did they interview a random sample of 100 blacks, 95 percent of whom are likely to vote for Obama? Did they ask those blacks exactly why they are voting for Obama?

Come on, liberal media, do your job!

If you held no bias regarding negroes before the advent of Zero, his conduct has been enough to create a bias in the most pure of hearts.

The poll is totally useless as an indicator because it’s an Internet poll and ass such open to manipulation.

That aside I couldn’t find anything regarding the demographics. In any case it is no surprise given then total predictability of the media that this this nonsense would come out.

I cannot speak for others but for myself I can say there was a rime I would make an effort to defend myself against a suggestion I was a racist because I abhorred this president, what he stood for and the method he used in getting his way. No longer, now suggestions of my feelings being racist in nature are met with the equivalent of a hale and hearty GFY.

And, the study that blacks are racist? Where is that?

We know blacks overwhelmingly vote for blacks .... yet whites vote for Obama. Blacks are more racist IMO.

or through an experimental test that measured implicit views

So, whoever is doing the study can make it say whatever they want.... kinda like Global Warming/Climate Change or any Democratic district, huh?

Oh, and for the record, I don't like Marxist, Mooslim, Constitution Violating Kenyans - regardless of his Heinz 57 status.

LOL John, The first time I was called a racist because I disagreed with Obama I was shocked, and yes, I too felt I had to defend myself, I completely understand.

Truthfully, I believe many Americans are pretty sick and tired of this BS,

I also believe they intended to use the race card from the beginning, to silence people.

Prejudice is not bigotry or superstition, although prejudice sometimes may degenerate into these.
Prejudice is pre-judgment, the answer with which intuition and ancestral consensus of opinion supply a man when he lacks either time or knowledge to arrive at a decision predicated upon pure reason.

I am a racist. I am a sexist. I am a religionist. I am a linguicist. I am a cutlurist.

I treat women differently than I treat men. I treat people that talk differently than me differently than those that talk like me.

I used to be in sales. A person who is all of the above and learns to skillfully communicate uniquely to each will do MUCH better than a person who blindly treats all people exactly the same. Sex, race, vocabulary, dialect, manner of dress and attitude ALL impact how I treat a person.

And there is a reason, after certain crimes are reported, that people her sarcastically say, “Looks like the Amish are at it again.”

Ultimately, it all boils down to culture and subculture. Anyone that tries to ignore that is in for a very difficult life.

I live in the inner city, a once beautiful neighborhood, most of my neighbors are black, and so far we get along fine.

The thing is a lot of the people I know moved away, you know, those white guilt Obama supporters, I know why they moved away, they don’t even like to come and visit, they moved away to the suburbs, because they didn’t like the change in the neighborhoods,

These same people write articles such as the one in the opening post,

Who is the racist?
