The most widespread impact, by far, will be power outages, with some residents taking weeks to get restored. There also will be pronounced storm surge damage along the Jersey Shore and a very real possibility of the NYC subway system getting flooded.
Now, take those power outages and realize that a large number of the potentially affected persons aren't even taking basic steps to be ready to go without power for more than 3 days or so and many not even doing the minimum. They will start to run out of potable water (critical) and food (less critical but hunger makes people do strange things). Recall all of the ginned-up outrage about not getting water to the Superdome? Now imagine that kind of issue with entire cities such as Philly.
And if widespread Dem regions are without power by election day, you will hear drumbeats to hold off voting until power is restored. I really hope Romney can win big enough elsewhere so that election results in the mid-Atlantic and Northeast are a moot point - but there still could be impact in Senate and House races.
Sorry but a meteorologist doesn’t go into a “hurricane” to measure wind speed. An Obama government agency is the ONLY source for the winds speeds. 75 mph wind speeds non-changing for days(ridiculous). This 75 bogus NOAA number is just what is needed to call this a hurricane just when Obama needs it most to get Bengazi gate off of the news. note that if it were 73 mph it would be a tropical storm. Surely an Obama gov agency wouldn’t fake data when Obama needs this to take bengazi gate off the news? yes they would and they have
I don’t think it will impact the outcome either way.
Bingo...I expect to lose power in Red Hampshire, but that happens every time the wind blows in excess of 20 MPH around here. With expected temps in the mid-sixties; it will be a minor inconvenience, at best. Localized flooding when (and if) Hurricane Benghazi comes ashore will certainly be a major problem for people in those areas. 'Storm of the Century', though..? Please. We have had PLENTY of deadly storms over the past twenty years...plenty.
You remember the 1993 “Storm of the Century”?

The Republicans want this guy out of town and will vote under any circumstances.
It will also affect early voting.
I think that if someone cut a small hole in my abdomen, pulled out a small length of intestine and then nailed it to a tree, I would unravel every bit of it as I walked to the polls to vote.
That being said, i’ve already voted, so my guts are safe I think.
Perhaps, although the pressure readings are very low - now in the 950s.
All who are ridiculing what I'm saying . I'll see you here after the election to see if thousands were killed.
Really?
You sure?
And who is the source of pressure readings, of wind speed? NOAA an Obama government agency.
Wind speeds can be estimated by satellite - Google 'Dvorak Technique'. You have no clue about what you are claiming.
Depressing the vote in Philly isn’t that bad, nor is northern VA suburbs. I don’t think that NH will be affected.
The BIG question is WHO STOLE KARL ROVE’S HURRICANE MAKING MACHINE?
That’s what I want to know.
Has an election for POTUS ever been postponed? If not, what makes you think nobama would be able to accomplish it now, short of a massive nuclear attack?
When thousands are not subsequently killed, zero will be hailed as the master planner and provider of safety (except for foreign diplomats) that he is.

These links are from NOAA.GOv an Obama government agency and it is what everyone is reporting off of.
Don’t fret.
There was one model run doing that at the time. Later, models came into agreement about the turn. But there was a fair amount of uncertainty about that left turn until Friday.
