I looked at the models/maps yesterday for an hour or two, but didn’t go further than election day. Seemed to me that bad weather or cold weather will only be in NorthWest (WA,OR), Southern CA (possibly), and very cold push in the MI,WI,ND area. No major precip other than the West. No major unseasonably hot areas.

I didn’t see signs of this system, but I wasn’t looking at things with respect to Wed or beyond, and nothing grabbed me suggesting something was going to act like Sandy by Tues. This system didn’t appear at all. However, what I recall from my exploration yesterday, if this system is tracking like a typical Northeaster, the system coming in from the north may well interact in a similar way to Sandy.

That would not be good, since the temperatures in the whole MidWest-NorthEast will be substantially colder.

Time to stock up on gasoline, I think... especially given the current situation in the NJ,NYC area.

Yeah, we could use some gas, too.

“If you normally keep one chained in the basement, he’s eager to be given an outside chore. Er, so I’ve heard.”

Don’t have a basement but have an outdoor storage building. Will start getting chains together, then have to find man to chain. Thanks for that answer to the problem.

That’s what I mean. The plan could be Prepare our citizens what to expect. This is ongoing, not just at time of the disaster. Immediately, have the national guard with helicopters and navy (if disaster is on a coastline) ready to provide medical services, food, water, emergency supplies as needed. At this point my brain power is out of ideas, so someone else can take over. But you get the idea. I do think that each community can imagine what might happen and how to deal with it ie no gas, no power, etc. Mainly cut the red tape, get govt out of way. Provide way for citizens to communicate ie have phone stations. Maybe a think tank could come up with ideas. Thinking, planning and putting on paper is better than nothing. Maybe not, it might make people feel more victimized.

johnny you just came up with the plan: Civil Defense did a good job of teaching and prepping. Get govt red tape out of the way.

Perhaps as soon as there is a disaster, the governor waives all red tape - ALL.

Get a think tank to come up with ideas.
