FEMA Out of Water, No Delivery Until Monday
Breitbart ^ | Nov 3, 2012 | Michael Patrick Leahy

Posted on 11/03/2012 11:03:16 AM PDT by blueyon

FEMA's vaunted "lean forward" strategy that called for advanced staging of supplies for emergency distribution failed to live up to its billing in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

In fact, the agency appears to have been completely unprepared to distribute bottled water to Hurricane Sandy victims when the storm hit this Monday. In contrast to its stated policy, FEMA failed to have any meaningful supplies of bottled water -- or any other supplies, for that matter -- stored in nearby facilities as it had proclaimed it would on its website. This was the case despite several days advance warning of the impending storm.

1 gallon is basically bare minimum. Hydration, brushing teeth, sponge bath every couple of days. Maybe a bit for cooking rice but not pasta. In colder weather you don’t need as much since you are not sweating out as much.

It can be done in less than an hour! from Dover!

The government can't organize a 2 car funeral in less than an hour.

It can be done. It will be done. It will take time. They won't be air-dropping stuff, regardless of your exclamation points.

Sealed water is useless if the outside is contaminated with hep B.

Get a grip. How well are you prepped to ride out the time it takes for the government to show up?

Actually, my mountain man experience had me using more water in the winter than in the summer. That was real-world kind of stuff. And for over a year.

3 days, maybe you could get by with a gallon a day. It takes that long to dehydrate to death (on average) without any water.

Having lived the real deal, I keep 60 gallons minimum on hand in the house for my first 3 days. I can do it on 5 a day. It sucks. Hard.

What we need are photos that we can run on the net and let them go viral.

We need to show zero campaigning in one slide and people in line for gas in the other.

Zero campaigning in one side and torn down houses with people on the roofs with no where to go in the other.

Its all there. All we have to do is capture the video and the stills.

Of course! The corruptocrats just can’t help themselves. They don’t care about the people...it is all about pay to play and keeping their power.

Every aircraft carrier and cruise ship has one. Not sure about destroyers. I stayed in a cabin on a Florida island that had reverse osmosis desalinization.

Trust me - if you are going through a week without power in Florida or Texas in August, you will need more water - lots more - than a week in New Jersey in November. You would probably sweat three gallons per day in the August scenario.

I'm not saying one gallon is optimal or even bearable. But it is survivable under the conditions currently in the region.

I plan for and have 20 gallons a day for the first 3 days, and can make potable water in large quantities. I've played those reindeer games. I intend to stay fairly comfortable.

I hear you about the heat, but reality was that I used more water in the winter than I did in the summer. I attribute that to the much larger caloric intake in the winter. 4000+ a day requires some cooking and cleaning. And the body requires water to process that much food.

Wilderness living is hard. I did do it. For over a year. I don't do it, today, unless required. ;)

The people are suffering needlessly because the socialists in control have removed the profit incentive;if the price gougers could make a profit they would be carrying everything needed as fast as possible.

This current Government IS the problem.

The Washington (state) department of health has the amount of bleach to use on it’s website. The brita filter is a good idea as well, but if you haven’t prepared well enough to store water I wonder if you’ll have one of those?

Unfortunately it’s probably too cold to use the SODIS method for water purification.

The 20th century taught me that the only thing governments do well is kill people and break things. They pretty much suck at everything else.

That was my hotwash note from the 20th century, anyway.

Or Obama wants to pick and choose by party or supporters who gets the water and meal replacements.

“In fact, the agency appears to have been completely unprepared to distribute bottled water to Hurricane Sandy victims when the storm hit this Monday.”

This is a great marker for all you FReepers who think that the federal government can:

1. Drag us to concentration camps.

2. Go door-to-door and confiscate weapons.

3. Shoot cop-killer bullets out their fat 500-lb. arses and hit a target at 1,000 yards.

If these fat-butt 20 IQ morons can’t even carry a bottle of water to New York state, what makes you think they can find your address?
