Romney Loss - Evangelicals "Again" Stayed Home
IFB ^ | 11/7/12

Posted on 11/07/2012 4:18:54 AM PST by The Ignorant Fisherman

Many of us could not imagine that Romney could lose this election, especially after four years of Obama’s radical Marxism and its social and fiscal consequences that America will NEVER recover from. All the hype and all the Romney rallies; it indeed looked like a sure victory for Romney except for one equation, the Evangelical vote. We here at the IFB have talked back and forth among ourselves since the RNC convention and with others also in the know; that if the Evangelical vote did not show up on Nov. 6th the jig would be up and Romney would lose big… and indeed he has.

Remember, the GOP and Romney gave NO place to the Evangelical vote at the RNC convention. They outright snubbed us and that act rubbed Evangelicals the wrong way.

Remember, the GOP and Romney gave NO place to the Evangelical vote at the RNC convention. They outright snubbed us and that act rubbed Evangelicals the wrong way. The Evangelical vote consists of the TRUE social and moral conservatives of the party (i.e., the Right). Romney and the GOP also gave very little time to the Tea Party who is the heart of the grass root movement and the engine of the Party! The viewer ratings for the 2012 RNC convention were way down, some 40% and many of us- including myself - did not watch one lick of it. Why should we have? We knew what we were getting and many of us felt “diss’d” being left out as we were. That in its self should have set off warning bells to the RNC but in all honesty many of us who are Evangelicals were still going to vote for Romney holding our nose. It is our duty as Believers and an Americans to be salt and light (Matt. 5:13-16) and even though Romney was who he was; he was the better choice still and the lesser of the two evils for our nation. We were not going to trust in a Romney win but that a Romney win would slow down the final deterioration of our nation.

Many Evangelicals who voted for Bush in 2000 and in 2004 felt betrayed by his agreeing with and passing many of the Marxist policies of the progressive Left. To this day it still has left a bad taste in our mouth and many have NOT forgotten it. Evangelicals felt betrayed and many did not vote for McCain in 2008 which gave Marxist Obama the victory. When you add the convention snub of Romney and the GOP that was the straw that broke the elephants back.

Many Evangelicals who voted for Bush in 2000 and in 2004 felt betrayed by his agreeing with and passing many of the Marxist policies of the progressive Left. To this day it still has left a bad taste in our mouth.

Now we come to today, the day after the election and we once more again see that the Evangelical vote has stayed home; and in doing so have given Obama another four years to finish the job of transforming our nation and fundamentally changing our culture and way of life which includes the elimination of sound biblical Christianity. I know I am going to get a ton of hate mail for this statement, but SHAME ON YOU for sitting home and not choosing to be light and exercising your God given right to vote (Matt. 5:13-16)! I know all sides of this argument and there is still absolutely NO excuse (Matt. 5:13-16). Your self righteous pride, biblical ignorance and foolishness has open wide the door now for Christian persecution in our nation and the end of the freedoms we have for the furtherance of the Gospel. My friends, indeed the Day of the Lord is at hand, but WOE to any who seek to bring it about who call on the Name of Jesus Christ by being idol and slothful. This is NOT a sanctification matter and God will hold you accountable for hiding your light and voice.

In the end, this 2012 election has revealed without a shadow of a doubt that the Evangelical element has lost its salt and light and that America has absolutely no problem in FULL LIGHT re-electing a radical progressive secular Marxists to reign over us.

In the end, this 2012 election has revealed without a shadow of a doubt that the Evangelical element has lost its salt and light (Matt. 5:13-16) and that America has absolutely no problem in FULL LIGHT re-electing a radical progressive secular Marxists to reign over us. I think of Samuel when all of Israel wanted a king and not the Lord (1 Sam. 8). It broke his heart and rightly so! He knew what was coming. Thus America in this election has said quite loudly that we DO NOT want the God given freedom to exercise what our Founding Fathers envisioned, which was based on the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God. In doing so we have REJECTED the Judeo/ Christian values and ideals which once made this country great. We have now as a nation fully taken on the mantle of Lawlessness and the spirit of Anti Christ as our nation’s ideology and culture.

Indeed, we as Evangelicals will now see what we must surely endure under lawless administration of Barack H. Obama and many Evangelicasl will be sifted and found wanting. That there... you can take to the bank!

The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!

I reiterate yet again, I did not support or vote for Romney in the primary. People that did are responsible for him being the nominee, and people who sat out the general election are responsible for 0 being the president.

God threw us a life-line and we chose not to hold on...

So God tossed us a direct rival to him -- a divine 'god in embryo' -- so that we could have a human political messiah who would 'save us' -- and thereby steal even MORE glory from God, Himself...and we blew it, eh?

Wow! What a narrative from a Christian!

You know, talk show host Dennis Prager was saying today that the way to save the world is thru the United States.

The only difference 'tween Prager's values soteriology and many FREEPERs' political soteriology is that Prager usurps God-as-Savior and interjects the U.S....while many FREEPERs usurp God-as-Savior and interjected a would-be political messiah named Mitt..

God, in His sovereignty, would have NONE of it...

And neither will He have Prager's U.S.-as-savior crap...

Jesus is the ONLY Savior...we don't need the U.S. to be the savior; we don't need Mitt as political messiah; and we don't need the Mormons baptizing millions of others as saviors of the dead...

Those are ALL counterfeit saviors...and the sooner people stop putting faith in them the better!!!!

I despise Obama, but I also despise Romney and I know a couple of his family members (who also despise him).

You absolutely do NOT despise Obama. I live out in the PA countryside and would have WALKED the 3 miles to the church where I vote, if necessary. I know plenty of liberals around here, and I have to deal with them everyday. They hate Romney as much as you do. They are thrilled with Obama's victory and can't wait for gay marriage, obamacare and taxpayer funded abortions.

My relationships with some family members and long-time friends are strained because of Obama. I despise everything he stands for. I can't even discuss politics with my own sister because she voted for obama...I'm totally fed up with all the liberals around here.

You should live in PA where you would fit right in with your hatred of Romney... They believe as you do.... that he is evil incarnate.

My first pick didn't last the distance.
My second pick didn't last the distance.
Romney was my LAST pick, but I was was impressed with Ryan.

Romney was picked as the standard bearer and I support that. I support that as so much is at stake - supreme court nominees. I used to think that the GOP was the intelligent alternative to Marxism - but seeing the anti-Mormon bigotry, I am not so sure.

So when the new taxes for Obamacare kicks in in January, I'll blame you. You and your kind had the power to stop it, but chose to hate the GOP standard bearer, rather than the Marxist.

That’s okay because I despise you. You, and any others that did not vote for Romney, are my enemy. You are responsible for what happens in the next four years.

I hope you, and all your “sweet christian friends” are miserable. In fact, I think you’re just miserable people in general.

(Well, guess what? Breaking news for you...Your last pick didn't go the distance, either! If you somehow thought that making it thru the campaign falsely equated to "going the distance," you're sadly wrong...Your lack pick, in order to have lasted the difference, needed to be in the WH come 2013...)

So...tell us how it feels for that pragmatic utilitarian political relativist ethic to have worked for ya? Did it "last the distance???"

Is that what you've now taught all your kids & grandkids? Oh, when the going gets tough...cave...compromise...vote for pro-abort lite vs. pro-abort with the extra calories...as the 'lesser' of two evils...

Did your relativism get your somebody in the White House??? What did it buy?

Romney was picked as the standard bearer and I support that...

And most ironic is that you reference somebody supported by relativistic voters as a "standard bearer"...And Romney -- of all politicians -- as a supposed "standard bearer..."

Romney was for protecting homosexual employees as minority status before he was against it...and then before he was against it at the fed level but for it at the state level...[3 positions]

Romney was for the enslavement of embryos of any purpose before he was against it as of Nov. 2004 before he was "pro-choice" on it, either way as of Dec 2007... [3 positions]

Romney was pro-abortion (1994) before he said he wasn't (July 2001) before he ran as a pro-abort gov (2002) before he had a pro-life "altar call" (Nov 2004) before he said he would protect the status quo of abortion in MA (2005) & passed pro-abortion RomneyCare (2006) before he said he was "effectively" -- previously "pro-choice" (Jan 2007) before he said he never deemed himself "pro-choice" (Aug 2007) before he said he was "pro-life" (2007) before he told parents they could put up their embryos for "research" purposes (Dec. 2007) before he got the support of all the pro-life groups (2011-2012) before he told CBS News in late August 2012 that he favored abortion for the wide-open exception of BOTH health and life of the mom...

And this is some kind of "standard bearer"...????

What a sick, perverted twisting of this word...(May I suggest you repent of such word games!)

"Can't wait?" What planet are you living on?

What? Do you think that same-sex "marriage" doesn't already exist in given states in this country & certain countries around the world?

Or that Obamacare hasn't already been imposed?

Or that taxpayer-funded abortions -- including taxpayer-funded abortions via RomneyCare -- hasn't been a reality for quite some time?

What a silly child you are, n00b!

You think you can sign up on FR on 9/12/2012 and proceed to jump in and badmouth veteran FReepers who have been here for several years and we are supposed to consider your juvenile opinions to be worthwhile and bow to your superiority.

Your cutsey screen name is laughable and we see you as either a DU transplant or a pimply-faced teen posting from mommie's basement.

Invective and profanity do nothing towards painting you as an informed and reasoning poster to be taken seriously. You are to be waved off as one would wave off a bothersome fly!

I did not support or vote for Romney in the primary. People that did are responsible for him being the nominee ...

... in your fantasy world. In Realville, a lot of strategy, under-handed hardball, a little bit of unethical politicking and a lot of negative campaigning, are responsible for him being the nominee. By the time the primaries came to a whole helluva lot of Republicans, Ron Paul and Romney were the only ones left. A flawed and manipulted SYSTEM, not Republican primary voters, are responsible for Romney being the nominee.

... and people who sat out the general election are responsible for 0 being the president.

In your fantasy world, yes. In Realville, Zero is president because of a combination of blatant vote fraud by Democrats, and the fact that Americans had only two liberals to choose from, and apparently, a lot of Americans figured it just wasn't worth going to the polls to determine whether America got Coke or Pepsi.

But you go on calling those who disagree with you blind fools if it makes you feel good. You're only deceiving yourself, not the rest of us.

If it makes me feel good? Is there anything left to feel good about? I'd say not. All any of us can do is withdraw, Go Galt, and take care of ourselves and our own.

There is a thread up, Boehner just said that increased revenue under "certain conditions" is acceptable. Didn't take long at all, did it.

This country is gone.

That’s okay because I despise you

Why do you MittBots believe your personal opinion of us would be of the least bit of importance to us?

You all have your knickers in a twist because, as we have told you since 2007 he didn't have a chance in hell of winning against Obama.

The danger of mormonism is that its members see themselves as being "speshul" and superior and Mitt's persona just shouts that out. He DOES believe he is superior and for months posters of all kinds on FR have been remarking that the "likability factor" was missing in him, that he comes across as a used-car salesman.

That, more than anything else defeated his candidacy along with the continual pictures of his "perfect" wife and "perfect" family in front of their "perfect" mansions while half this country is losing jobs, losing homes, losing their retirement and bereft of any hope.

Mitt Romney has never in his life gotten a blister on his finger from hard work, never humped his butt in military basic training, and the oh-so-darling stories of his good deeds omitted the fact that most of those good deeds were done for fellow mormons.

He was the worst possible choice as a candidate against a man who has PROVEN with his appointments and laws that the minorities have become first and the whites have become last.

So take your "you are to blame" invective and direct it toward the stupid party who chose to force him down the throats of working Americans. It's not selling here, not today when FReepers are being forced to again taste the bitter dregs of defeat.

don’t believe any of the reasons we are being fed. I believe Romney won the election. Votes were electronically transferred to Obama."""""........

I believe the same way, there is more to those machines than meets the eye. 3 punches for Obama, 1 for Romney, O up two now. All in the Swing States, how convenient.

Remember how the Left were complaining that Tagg Romney has something to do with the Voting Machines? That was to be able to lay blame when and if needed. Otherewise they had fully intended from the get go, right after the 2008 election to corupt those machines for yesterday.

They knew Acorn could no longer be used and they knew they also did not have to seem energetic. Add to that the slobbering MEDIA WHORES.

Their wheels are turning at this very moment on how to steal the next one as well.
