But why do some CONSERVATIVEs on FR go all MEGO on us when SCRIPTURE is posted? Dismissing it with an imperial wave of the hand?

Good Q...and well-framed.

I know it's a rhetorical Q, but I'll add my thoughts.

I can't speak to specific motivations of any given FReeper; but generically I think people are relativistic & don't want the Bible as their applicable Guide in life.

To wave it off as authoritative to their life, they need to assume self-authority over it.

Quite possibly. And I have to admit that I think that choice is erroneous.

However, I can respect the person who just cannot bring themsleves to vote for Romney as a matter of principle, or even theology. I think that it did enable an Obama victory, but still it is a legitimate, principled choice.

But, to actually vote for Obama is a totally different matter. Only pig ignorance or evil intentions could justify such.

If you are an “evangelical” and voted for Obama, and really are a Christian, then I would suggest studying the Scriptures a little more closely, and add a good dose of prayer.

As for the Mormons, while I know about as much as I care to about their theology, I don't know enough to determine if a vote for Obama is consistent with it. Based on my observations of the few that I know personally, I tend to doubt it. But that's just an opinion.

Well, then, dumb nut! (isn't name-calling mean???) Although I agree 1000% with the statements which have made your head explode (just like a liberal's), I cannot take credit for them.

Please make certain you respond to the correct post next time. Also, search for help in making your posts easier to read and understand, and learn how to use italics, when you wish to quote another post, paragraphs, and even bold!

It's fun! And easy, too! if you have a brain.

I think you may have gotten caught up in the stormsurge of those posting here that are claiming that to NOT vote for ROMENY is the same as voting for Obama.
***Yes, he did. Sorry about that, Chesley.

Thanks for the ping.

Of course voting does, and should, take discernment. We can't always be right.

For instance, in the election just past, the office of probate judge was up for grabs. The incumbent was a long-time Democrat, who actually is a fine man and a good probate judge. The opponent, a Dem turned Republican, is also a fine man, as near as I can tell.

My wife wanted me to vote for the Dem, although she was voting R on every other position. Namely because he was getting involved in a terrible situation at her (state) place of employment, and was working to make things better.

I thought long and hard about the choice. In the end, I could not vote for the Democrat. They need to be turned out at every opportunity, IMO.

Is this the right choice? Should we vote the Party or the Man? What about the right man in the wrong party? I suspect that it often depends of the circumstances and the times. In these times my thinking is to leave them no base of power.

But it was a tough choice.

So, here you are calling conservatives mean names, trolling, and now nitpicking about italics & bolding. I guess you weren’t here on FR when we had to deal with people leaving their italics on, and for several posts afterward everyone else’s stuff was in italics. Fun! Easy! Yeah, right. When there’s an italics lock key on my keyboard I’ll use it. Or even when I can simply copy & paste from MSWord and have it survive. So are you done trolling? Are you done banging on conservatives on this conservative website? Maybe you’d have more fun going to unicorn.com and banging on people who believe in unicorns. You know what that is called? TROLLING.

Does that make me a heathen if I rage against it?

Yes, but you would be a heathen in their eyes anyway. That is how they view non-LDS.

Really? He knew my friends? Next you’ll be telling me that no Catholic uses a condom because their religion rejects using birth control.

I know what the Mormon church teaches. I also knew my friends. Please don’t let your rabid hatred control you. You are discussing something you have no knowledge of.

I’m not surprised by the election because I’m surrounded by liberals. They love obama & are thrilled by his re-election. Now I can stop arguing with them & have a calm Thanksgiving.

after the 2008 elections we were called bigots etc and told if we had voted fort Willard the Mormon and he had won the nomination for the GOP, he would have beaten Obama...

all we had needed to beat Obama was to have had Willard as our candidate..

It was all our fault...

OK lets look at what we know now...

2008 McCain beat Willard but couldnt beat Obama who was very popular and riding high...

2012 Willard bought himself the nomination but couldnt beat a much weakened and very unpopular Obama ...a shoo in for just about any Republican..

We HAD Willard for our candidate BUT HE DIDNT WIN...

End of story...

Inmans vindicated..

While I may not know your friends, I DO know (from personal experience and years of being in ministry to them) as do other exmo’s here know how the LDS treat gentiles (all non mormons) and what they say to their faces IS NOT what they really think about them or what they say to each other about the gentiles (you).

Mormons put on this nice face, friendly, pleasant, etc to outsiders (even close friends) ONLY because it makes the LDS church ‘look good’ and makes them more likely to ‘investigate’ (consider converting) the LDS church. Their goal in being nice is ONLY to convert you to Mormonism, and even if you say you will never do it, they don’t give up hope.

What they say to themselves and each other about non-Mormons, especially those ‘stupid Evangelicals’ is that they feel sorry for you, how stupid you are, how they are right and you are wrong and how you would be happier if you just converted to ‘the one true church’. If you are nice about your ‘witness’ to them, they see you as weak and not really believing your faith and see you as MORE of a target.

They constantly (to each other) bash Christians and Christian doctrine and consider them stupid and morally lazy.

I’ve pinged some other ex-mormons who will tell you they saw Christians the same way when they were LDS.

In short, your Mormon friends are lying to you in hopes of making the LDS church look good and getting you to convert.

I know, amazing isn’t it. We prophesied this and now they are stoning the prophets.

Sigh.

Actually, I don’t think obama was ever unpopular. I continually encounter people who support him. Plus, I read comments on Facebook from relatives who like him. Most people wanted him, & that’s why he’s president.

Breakaway Salt Lake sect mornons are just as controlled as the FLDS folks you see on TV, only in a different costume.

They are not allowed to have facial hair, they are told how to dress, how to act, what to do every single night of the week, etc. They are told to seek out and devour people like you.

There are two concepts you must keep in mind when dealing with members of this cult:

1. Think 'Stepford Wives', like in the movie. Completely brainwashed anc controlled....Putting forth a deceptive image for the cult to help recruit.

2. AMWAY....Most multi-level marketing campaigns start and are run out of Utah, and for a good reason, they are all based on the same organizational method as the cult. They are on your porch because they want you in their "downline" either as productive recruiters yourselves or as their eternal slaves.

I am a saved LDS Sect "high Priest", same as Romney.

2. AMWAY...

Shhh! Don't tell Ada, Michigan that their Amway corporate headquarters is fake, and that the REAL one is in Utah!

A lot of people think Obama’s doing a great job, & it’s all Bush’s fault. Plus, they believe everything the media says.

My local paper endorsed obama.

Young people relate to obama. They’ve been brainwashed by the media & Hollywood.

My nephew & wife in LA think they’re going to get obamacare for free. They all want the Freebies, & they think obama is handing them out.

Obama was goin to win against any Republican.
