After Obama win, U.S. backs new U.N. arms treaty talks

(Reuters) - Hours after U.S. President Barack Obama was re-elected, the United States backed a U.N. committee's call on Wednesday to renew debate over a draft international treaty to regulate the $70 billion global conventional arms trade.

U.N. delegates and gun control activists have complained that talks collapsed in July largely because Obama feared attacks from Republican rival Mitt Romney if his administration was seen as supporting the pact, a charge Washington denies.

The month-long talks at U.N. headquarters broke off after the United States - along with Russia and other major arms producers - said it had problems with the draft treaty and asked for more time.

But the U.N. General Assembly's disarmament committee moved quickly after Obama's win to approve a resolution calling for a new round of talks March 18-28. It passed with 157 votes in favor, none against and 18 abstentions.

But now Obummer has more "room" to be flexible without consequence.

If there are EVER house to house firearm confiscations in this country, you will have lost much more than just your right to keep and bear arms. At that point, you may as well take as many with you as you can, because you will be murdered anyway, as you will be a “risk”.

This is the brutal truth of the matter. Anyone who understands this enemy and his designs knows this. The enemy also knows that we know it, which is why it's important to think outside the box on this one. I wasn't suggesting local LEOs would be participating in mass, door-to-door enforcement of some new gun ban or treaty. I was thinking more along the lines of a stealth confiscation... "you were on anti-depressants in 1998 and Section Z, Article B-6 of Addendum V of the Affordable Healthcare Act prohibits you from legally owning a firearm, sir"... that sort of thing, but on a grand scale, with each individual gun owner ensnared in his own personalized regulatory web and being disarmed by LEOs, Treasury, DHS, FBI, and so on.

I don't pretend to know exactly how it's going to go down, but I know they're going to do their damnedest to disarm the people (their only true opposition), and they're not going to do it in a way that will provoke a hot war in the streets. That would risk everything they've worked for generations to accomplish. They're smarter than that.

"Gun Control will be delivered by the US Mail...man in a blue shirt with a letter from the IRS...."

Yep! The letter will inform you that HHS, under regulation 32.5c.1.45 of obamacare, has suspended all access to health-care for anyone owning, possessing, talking about, or thinking about guns.

Until full compliance, all wages, savings or other forms of income will be garnished by the IRS.

Like minded people tend to find each other. One, or more States will say “Enough!”, and Treasury, DHS, FBI, ATF, etc. will have to decide if they really want to start a war. Once the first state stands up to them, more will follow.

That’s not why he lost. He was defined by the leftist media as an extremist. An archconservative Mormon evil businessman who hates minorites and women, who wants to take away food stamps and ban contraceptives and tampons. He didn’t lose because he was “liberal.”

Some think the idea is the police will come door to door to take guns if all this UN crap passes. I think that would be just about impossible with as many guns that are in the USA. But what if this BS UN anti-gun stuff went through and a law was passed stating it’s a felony to have a gun, lets say they slap you with 10 years mandatory jail time. There would be little need to go door to door, no big fight then. That alone would scare many into handing over their gun(s). If a person was brave enough to hold out and keep their guns, what would they use them for? If caught using one in a self defense posture let alone target practice, instant 10 years prison time. Im just making up this 10 year sentence, but “what if” they did something like that ? The whole idea of this with the UN scares me.

The American Revolution began when the Brits tried to disarm the Colonists.

Seems fitting that it ends with the Colonists demanding to be disarmed.

First, the 2A supercedes any and all treaties.

Secondly, there shall be no ex post facto laws......this means the govt cannot change any rules on guns we own.

Eff em.

maybe FOX shouldhave looked at these results more closely as they do nto make sense.
VA, military votes evenly split, that has never happened but it did in VA.
OH where votes were down but after these last 4 years union votes went up to 5%
FL where Romney was a certain winner and polls had him up by 7 with oversampling of Dems
Observers thrown out in PA, FL, \\

Less people voted but the media states that less republicans came out but after looking at my state then that is not true, republican votes were up in each county

Mia Love a rising star and a threat to the left was up by double digits but then lost, which is bizarre.
WI Walked won his election twice, republican fired up, and yet the state was not close for the federal positions and Romney but went republican state wide

I could go on and on but something is not right and most on our side just move on and say h well and then we wonder why the left does what they do

While it is interesting to discuss all the “could happen” scenarios, I don’t look for any drastic new gun control laws. Concealed carry laws in most states have expanded people’s interest to carry, even libs are carrying. Texas doesn’t have open carry yet, but no permit needed to carry in your vehicle. No treaty trumps constitutional rights, and even the politicians, with the exception of a few in districts that will re- elect them no matter what, won’t touch it.( I’m thinking Jackson-Lee here in Texas, maybe Schumer in NY) Now, I’m not saying that the “wanna be king” obama wouldn’t like to do such things, even his teleprompter will tell him no.

This right here could be the one thing that could start a civil war, at the least major uprisings, within the US.

Elections have consequences................
