Christie: I campaigned harder than anyone for Romney
New York Post ^ | 6:22 PM, November 7, 2012 | By DAVID K. LI

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie -- Mitt Romney's surrogate-turned-President Obama fan -- bristled today at suggestions that his embrace of the Democratic incumbent cost Republicans the White House....

When asked what went wrong for Romney last night, Christie deadpanned: “He didn’t get enough votes.”

“I’m not a pundit, I’m an office holder,” Christie said.

You gave the President a platform right when he needed it the most

Exactly. When we had him pegged as the partisan he’s always been....Christie gave Independents a reason to vote for him again. Christie made him look bipartisan when in fact he’s anything but.

Im 37...for as long as I live Christie wont get a vote from me. We need to start our own 3rd party completely and put a Teaparty person up there

Ummm no. He knows hos shallow and stupid the voters are - and how much that photo op day would get played. He did it on purpose to get revenge. Interesting *that*.

Those were the exit polls, not my opinion and I’m sure they weren’t lying.

Will never support or vote for this guy. Before Sandy, I definitely would have. After his a$$-kissing? No.

I also think Christie would have gotten absolutely crucified had he left NJ to attend a Romney campaign rally.

Have to side with Christie here. People made up there minds long before Sandy came along.

Most people made up their minds before the hurricane struck, but usually the wishy-washy undecideds break for the challenger. Obviously Romney needed them to break his way, but they didn't in spite of the historical trend. So without question the hurricane helped Obama and on top of that the star-struck governor gave him a further boost up, going far beyond what was required of him in that situation.

Maybe Christie is right in saying he worked hard for Romney. Yet when it counted most he stood with Obama, not with Romney. Both literally and figuratively. Either he is completely artless and didn't understand how to handle Obama in a politically astute way, or else he simply decided to take the opportunity to undercut Romney.

Given the level he has risen to as a politician it is hard to believe the first scenario. But given that he is prone to lowering state flags when a pop singer dies and allegedly becomes overwhelmed when another of his music idols gives him a call, i wouldn't rule it out.

Early on many of us were impressed by Christie's outspokenness. It could be though that he simply doesn't have the skill to be a crafty statesman when the situation calls for it. Sort of like a pitcher who can throw 95 mph fastballs and you think, wow, he's great! Except you finally realize that's the only pitch he can throw. And in the long run that's not so great.

“Why did you do a photo op in the middle of a disaster?
Bloomberg didn’t even do one and he ENDORSED the demagogue.”

Salient point. They weren’t willing to do photo-ops with dude but our guy did. Once again....smh....disgusting

No, you deal with it. Hate women much? That would be about half of this site’s participants. Deal with that.

42% in exit polling said that Obama’s Sandy appearance affected how they voted. That includes men. Of all the valid things to blame, you choose to lay it all on women. You also might ask, “Where are all the male voters and why didn’t they show up?” Stats are funny things. They can be bend them to defend just about any idiocy.

Try thinking outside your box.
