Bill O’Reilly: If the Economy Does Not Turn Around, the Democrat Party Will “Evaporate” (Video)
Gateway Pundit ^ | November 8,2012 | Jim Hoft

Bill O’Reilly suggested last night that the Democrat Party may have some trouble if they can’t turn things around.

“If the economy does not turn around, you can forget about the Democratic Party. They’re going to just evaporate. The people have been very generous to Barack Obama. The American people have been very generous to him. They’re giving him another chance. If he fails now. Believe me.”

Boy, have you ever come around. You were always right about demographics, of course, but it seemed like you thought there was some kind of rationale solution if we just appealed to logic, honor, history, culture, etc. But, there was never any hope of solution, because it is part & parcel of the overall strategy to reshape this country - and reap tremendous profits doing so.

I refused to believe that a failed President like Obama could defy the laws of political gravity. It was inconceivable to me that he could win. Now we know that we have reached a tipping point that nothing really matters anymore in terms of performance. The political tribe called the Democrats will follow blindly their leadership and drink whatever Kool-aid is given to them--even if it kills them.

Without a truly productive underlying economy, you can only run this game so far before it collapses. The collapse of course will bring wage/price controls, rationing, etc. It will require, by necessity, war power type executive orders to enforce.

Federal government spending is 25% of GDP and when you add state and local spending it is probably closer to 40% or more. That kind of money can buy lots of support--not only public sector employes but crony capitalists who feed at the government trough. And there are others who benefit indirectly from such spending. The government can only tax people for so long before they kill the goose that laid the golden egg. We may fast be approaching that time. If interest rates go back to historical norms, we will have an immediate crisis not unlike what Greece is going through.

What does this mean in the big picture? Well, that which is unsustainable cannot last, but the road back is going to be nasty, brutish & long. No one is getting out of this the easy way. We may never live to see a return of the republic, but it will resume in some form or fashion after reality bats last.

If Greece is any example, it will be next to impossible to emerge. Unlike Greece, there is no one to bail the US out. We not only owe $16 trillion, but there is also the $60 trillion unfunded liability of the entitlement programs. Add to that another entitlement program, Obamacare, that will never be cost neutral. Medicare costs more than nine times what it was projected. Obamacare will be worse. And if the IPAB starts reducing payments to doctors and hospitials, there will be a political firestorm and the politicians will cave into public pressure. This will hasten our bankruptcy.

I have stated before that if Obamacare is implemented, the Republic is finished. Well, Obama won and it will be implemented fully. SCOTUS could have ruled it unconstitutional, which would have finished Obama off IMO. I agree we are headed for some terrible times. I have no faith in the political elite to do the right thing. They can't handle the truth. Very few will avoid the coming pain and suffering.

Would that it were so. Both parties need to evaporate, actually.

I don't believe that. What your saying is the electorate was clamoring to dump a RINO for a liberal by a large majority. mccain/palin lost to zero, not bush

Full throttle into oblivion seems to be all the rage.

I'm on board. Open the borders, raise taxes, install Obamacare...give the people what they asked for.

I don’t think so. America is becoming California where the Democrats win no matter what.

The Dems will successfully hang their failures around the neck of the Republican House. The media will assist them. The Pubbies aren’t able to counter the meme.

Let 'em. They will get a Dem House in 2014. Let 'em run it aground. It's time to Cloward-Piven Obama.

It will be the Tea Party Republicans fault!—Anybody but Obama and the Progressives! The Democratic party will transform into the Progressive Party and it will ban all other hate parties like the Republicans. See all of you in the prison camp—my bunk will be next to Glen Becks.

Ditto on everything you said. For a lot of people, there may still be an element of wishful thinking that some kind of miracle might yet still occur.

But for the 7-10 million voters (both R&D) who sat out this election, my guess is that they are those who would typically be referred to as "informed voters". They know the score, and are at least mentally getting themselves ready for the "big suck".

Side notes:

- Travis, I ping you periodically, because you have perhaps the strongest insight into how this will actually play out in the streets. I figure a few side notes sent your way about the underlying financial drivers will help when it comes to rally/explain these events to the next generation.

- Kart - same explanation - the message needs to be clear so that history is accurately recorded.

- Edmund - you're a very smart guy, just a little bit naive. In many ways, a young(er) Kabar. It's a tough process to finally come to grips with what has happened. But once you get over that hurdle, you can become an effective voice to rally the movement.

All causes, in order to be successful, have to have the moral advantage. We need to be able to clearly explain what occurred, and how, while redemption might yet be achieved, it's going to be a hard, painful process.

“have the takers in Greece woken up one day and said, wow, better stop voting for corrupt politicians who steal other people’s money and give it to us, and get back to work?”

Greece may be sitting on a huge oil and gas field in the Mediterranean worth trillions of dollars. Australian and Canadian mining companies are making deals to tap into the gold fields in Greece now. If natural resource estimates are correct, Greece will be the wealthiest country in Europe. I guess we’ll see.

Study: Greece sitting on natural gas reserves worth $600 billion

Ohhh and let’s not forget how the Dem Party is setting up Hillary to take over for Obama in 2016. Writing is on the wall.

And then the media will go wild with “Republicans hate women” campaign again....

Like to believe this, but somehow I believe the 47% are not going away. The best we can hope for is that some of them don’t show up, like in 2010.

More wishful thinking from the conservative media establishment.

Just look at Detroit and California. Both in the toilet economically, or headed there.

And one elects an 8-time felon to local government and the other enacts all kinds of tax increases in the midst of accelerating economic decline.

Economic disaster DOES NOT end Democratic government. They perpetuate each other in a constant downward spiral.

Let it happen, the sooner the better. Let the people reap what they have sowed. At least those of us who saw it coming will be the most prepared to ride it out.

A part of me is happy he won, in a "reap what you sow" sort of way. He made, now he owns it and has to deal with the mess.

If Romney won, when it gets really bad as virtually any and all seem to believe it will, Romney probably would have done an admirable job with damage control and repair, but he would have gotten all the heat and misplaced blame, too. Those parts would not his.

Now, the people who did the deed are more likely to get the credit and blame for the pain they have caused and blamed others for. No guarantee, he's a media made sensation after all, but the odds are fairly good obama will have some 'splaining to do.

40% chance he'll not have a happy time these next four. 100% chance that we won't. Take your pick. WWIII or CWII seem to be trending up these days...

Good post.

The real SHTF point will be when financial markets decide that the Baraqqi/Bernanke/Geithner money creation is no longer tenable.

I wish I was smart enough to predict when that happens.

As long as as the national media is around to lie for them they will still be there. Wishful thinking.

O’Reilly is an idiot...we are on the way to Greece and it doesn’t matter what happens in 4-years; the Dems will win teh presidency for decades.

If a moderate, big government-loving candidate like Romney couldn’t win against the worst president in US history, we are toast, and Ted Baxter is clueless.

Nope, people are really that stupid. As many times as government fails, people still look to government to solve problems. Socialism always fails, and still people believe in it. The root of the problem is the reason for the 10th commandment - thou shalt not covet. It’s never going to stop. Now that we are filling up with third world immigrants who are used to lying tyrants promising to rob the rich and give to them, it’s going to be downhill from here.
