He was a candidate as conservative as you are likely to find anywhere. Someone who “fearlessly championed” everything YOU believe in.
So what happened to him?
Exactly. Between 2010 and 2012, a fixation on “simon-pure” GOP candidates cost the Republicans 5 Senate seats they might otherwise have won easily. DE (2010) and IN (2012) are but 2 examples.

I think too many people on our side were rocked by the manufactured controversy over his abortion(?) remarks.
I also know next to nothing about the guy. I've never heard him speak, nor do I know what sort of track record he has in politics. He could just be one of those guys who's rock solid, but as exciting as a wet dish rag. Remember Duncan Hunter?
