Boehner, GOP Leaders Purge Conservatives from Powerful Committees
Breitbart News ^ | 3 Dec 2012 | Matthew Boyle

Posted on 12/03/2012 6:26:04 PM PST by Veritas_et_libertas

House Speaker John Boehner and GOP leadership have removed several conservative House members from their respective powerful committee positions, Breitbart News has learned.

Effective next Congress, leadership pulled Kansas Republican Rep. Tim Huelskamp, Michigan Republican Rep. Justin Amash and Arizona Republican Rep. David Schweikert off committees from which they could exert conservative pressure on fiscal matters. Amash and Huelskamp were pulled from the Budget Committee and Schweikert from the Financial Services Committee.

Huelskamp, a freshman elected during the 2010 tea party wave, thinks the leadership move to pull him from the powerful committee is revenge for him standing up for conservatism. “It is little wonder why Congress has a 16 percent approval rating: Americans send principled representatives to change Washington and get punished in return,” Huelskamp said in a Monday night statement. “The GOP leadership might think they have silenced conservatives, but removing me and others from key committees only confirms our conservative convictions. This is clearly a vindictive move, and a sure sign that the GOP Establishment cannot handle disagreement."

How does a 3rd Party solve ANYTHING?

No, it does not solve anything.

It is time to win more Republican Primary elections. That is the only thing that will help Conservatives.

So, which day should we all go down to our Supervisor of Elections’ Office and re-register to some other party affiliation or to none at all? To let the GOP establishment see what might happen if they don’t listen.

They must seize each day and the out of control Washington establishment!!!

Until we get control of Secretaries of State, nationwide among all "red" states, our enemies will continue to do their treasonous electronic ballot fraud. How then do we seize anything?

How does a 3rd Party solve ANYTHING?

Because all the conservatives will magically decide to vote for the new 3rd party like they were going to do for Pat Buchanan, Virgil Goode, Gary Johnson, Ron Paul 88, Chuck Baldwin, Michael Badnarik, Harry Browne, etc.

Really? When the dems and GOP change aides/staff like socks?

That 10 election sure put the fear of God in all of’em huh?

Is it more logical to take the limited resource of conservatives and apply them to fighting a party to the proverbial death or is it more logical to take the limited resource and start fresh devoting all of it to advancing our agenda?

Simple math.

You have made many posts I greatly respect and agree with. But this thread, you obviously have not thought it through. This latest GOP abortion did not happen in a vacuum. It is the culmination of their purge. And for whatever reason, you deny the forest for the trees.

All your takeback plan lacks is our own printing press for money, our own MSM for PR and an opposition not willing to slash and burn our team.

All my plan lacks is enough people to reverse a bad case of recto-cranial inversion and admit what the facts show to be the case.

The sace the GOP saves what exactly? It’s a broken commodity that everyone hates.

NTHockey:
“Are you ready for Speaker Pelosi II? Get used to it, because the GOP is going down in flames in 2014”

Veritas_et_libertas:
“The 2014 elections are a big concern. I loathe to imagine the presidency and both chambers of congress under the control of democrats.”

I had put up a post earlier today to this effect, that — right now — the GOP is setting itself up to lose in 2014, possibly a crushing loss.

But wait, someone will jump in and say. “The party-in-power ALWAYS loses in the midterm elections”.

This truism comes from the same people who only a month ago told us that a sitting president with Obama’s economic numbers could never be re-elected. Yet he won in the face of presiding over one of the worst economies ever (only FDR beat him on that one).

It’s almost as if the old economic rules of winning elections don’t mean nuthin’ no mo’.
Not in the age of the ObamaPhone, Social Security Disability, and the self-refilling EBT card.

Even though the “old rules” are crumbling, what isn’t yet apparent is how “the new rules” will work, all the time. We have seen how _some_ of them worked _this time_.

There may be additional new rules as-of-yet unrevealed.

The Republican party is beginning to fade away as a national political party, and is changing into a more “regional” one. To remain a national party, you must remain [nationally] competitive — and it’s apparent that there are now large swaths of the country in which the Pubbies can no longer credibly compete (California, New York, Washington, Illinois, Maryland, and the entire region of New England). A number of other states seem to be on the verge of “tipping to the blue side”, including Colorado, New Mexico, Iowa, Ohio, Virginia, and Florida. Even stalwart Texas is going to start having problems delivering to the Republicans within 15-20 years.

The clock is ticking....

In before the wave of Freeper GOP shills vowing to hold ‘feet to the fire’ and castigating any of us not bowing to the ‘only’ party ‘we’ MUST support....

You and me both, Norm. I can't take any of these protestations dumping on the GOPe/promoting 3rd party, etc., seriously after you and I and others were attacked whenever we "suggested" the GOPe candidate was less than stellar. I think they will do it again, and insist that's the only choice we have so support the RINO and we're voting for Hillary if we don't vote for the RINO (likely Jeb Bush).

I DON'T VOTE FOR LIBERALS, DIDN'T VOTE FOR MCCAIN, DIDN'T VOTE FOR ROMNEY - I DON'T VOTE FOR LIBERALS. Folks on the forum might as well know it again - I DON'T VOTE FOR LIBERALS. Sure, Norm, we will get stomped again by forum members, but I DON'T VOTE FOR LIBERALS.

Also - we are PAST THE POINT of elections fixing the path we are on. The ballot box, if anyone was paying attention - is useless. It is only a mechanism to to create an illusion of choice and corral the masses to obedience of the behemoth state they will force us all to worship.

This bears repeating loud, clear, and as often as possible.

Apparently there is only one party now—those that are in power—democrats and republicans in Washington are one freaking party. It’s THEM and US.

Baynzo has made a deal with the devil.

“No political party could survive the defeat that the Republicans just took. Dead Whig walking.”

Your comment is two years’ premature.

Wait until November 5, 2014. If what you said above is as true on that day, then it will indeed be “Dead Whig’s a-walkin’” !!

RINO File.

There's no such thing as RINOs. They are just Republicans doing what Republicans do and have been doing for the last quarter century.

Now, are you ready to walk off the Gutless Old Pretender plantation or are you going to continue stepping and fetching for them while they lie to you?

To the horror of several on this board, I woke up every day since the election knowing I didn’t throw my soul publicly away campaigning for a lib.

Nor will I throw it away defending the very people who are our political opponents.

Any Freeper supporting the GOP at this point is something aside from conservative. Hard truth but conservatives do not support things the GOP is doing and has done for the last year plus.

The GOPe moves against conservatives will get them crushed in 2014. You can pretty much count on that.

No, it's time for real primary challenges by people who know how to actually campaign.

Keep lying to yourself.

I enjoy reading all the suddenly hyperconservative posts lately from all those who trashed us for standing on principle and not kissing GOP ass.

They want people to think they didn’t turn on us like a pack of dems. But they will never get the stink off themselves. Must suck to have killed their reps and trashed their conservative trustworthiness...FOR NOTHING.

"How then do we seize anything?"

No one is justified in saying with full unmitigated certitude, but it was seized here in CA is '66 and nationally in '80 and again nationally in '94 but your point is well taken. Which is why I'm returning to the belief system of my youth and am beginning to worship somewhat similarly to your practices.

The demonic sway manifesting in this country is becoming more and more disheartening with billionarires and media moguls "managing" more and more scenarios.
