The commercial itself is hardly controversial. Comedian and talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres, wearing holiday-themed gloves and hat, sits at a diner table with three of Santa's elves. She asks them to make more toys for a JC Penney contest, and ends up accidentally insulting the tiny little helpers with a bunch of clumsy short jokes.

One Million Moms ought to chill. There’s nothing offensive in the commercial. It seems that their only issue is that she is a lesbian. She doesn’t mention it, doesn’t say anything about 2 mommies.... so what’s their problem?

I’ve got mixed feelings on this one. I actually find Ellen quite likeable - when I watch her as a comedienne. I really wish she would have kept her sexual prefs to herself...because those things are really none of anyone’s business. I don’t give a smelly Obama about who she boinks.
I was PLEASANTLY surprised to see the word “Christmas” in the ad. Kudos for that, anyhow.
I stopped shopping JC Penney because they stink. They had to change the way they advertise and price rather than keeping things great like they had for 30+ years.
Then they wanted to reverse course and pander to queers thinking that they could make up for their mistake in changing what customers liked.
