Obama administration investigating sergeant who said the Bible condemns homosexuality

The U.S. Department of Education (DOE) has launched a federal investigation over a conversation between a Huntsville JROTC instructor and a lesbian student about the Bible and homosexuality.

Last April, Virgil Grissom High School student Taylor Sisk, 15, asked a local homosexual activist to file a complaint on her behalf after 1st Sgt. Lynn Vanzandt allegedly told her that he believed the Bible says homosexuality is a sin. It is unclear how the conversation began.

Sisk, who leads her school’s Gay-Straight Alliance club, claimed she was talking to another girl about wanting to live in San Francisco when Vanzandt made his remarks. Other witnesses have said the girls directly asked Vanzandt his opinion on homosexuality. Sisk claimed they then asked him to stop talking about it and, when he refused, her friend ran crying from the room.

Oral stimulation isn’t sex. Sex is a very specific thing. Penetrative intercourse involving a real (not simulated) penis.

So in your opinion, President Bill Clinton did not have sex with that woman, Monica Lewinski. Is that what you're saying?

I don’t disagree with that. However, I do not agree that it is immoral for two adults to engage in oral stimulation outside of sex, and I doubt we’l ever see eye to eye on that.

I am old enough to remember when Jerry Lee Lewis married his 13-year-old cousin and nothing was done about it except years of late-night comedian redneck jokes.

And Americans voted for four more years of this.

Fx News ignored possible massive voting fraud in the last election just like Fx swept possible problems with Obama's citizenship under the carpet.

Your opinion on this subject is asinine. To say that conservatives assign more sinfulness to faggotry than the bible is completely off base. Have you ever heard of Soddam and Gomorrha? Of course you have, yet you still give us this drivel. You would be better off at DU.

Not true. Anything that involves touching the body to provoke or induce an erotic sensation is sexual. If the doctor puts an instrument in my ear to look at my eardrum, that’s an examination. If your twelve year old’s math teacher puts his tongue in your daughter’s ear, that is a sexual act.
If I kneel and kiss the ring of an archbishop, that is an act of reverence. If a person puts their lips to another person’s genitals, that is a sexual act.
The obvious way to determine whether an act between two people is sexual is to ask: is this something you could do in a public place in full view of other people? Is this something you would do in front of your mother?
The answer is clear.

I'm always afraid of the answer. How many people think this is okay and even okay for kids? ugh... I don't want to know. *fingers in ears*

Ok, you say you wouldn’t do it to children because you don’t want to - suppose someone did it to your own four year old child or niece/nephew?

I would agree. It’s shocking how quickly the country has changed. While I fear for a nation that does not follow the teachings of Jesus which were essential to the success of Western civilization, what people do in private is really between them and God. However, the relentless push to insert homosexuality into every aspect of daily life is horrific. Why do our kids need to be educated about homosexuals and transgender people in schools? They are a tiny minority in the country. Do we spend as much time teaching our kids about acrobats, or people who are color blind? Whose idea was it to allow ANY group based on sex into schools?

Over time, I have come to accept that being a homosexual is not something that you choose to be. It’s an abnormality. But so is being a pedophile, or a zoophile, or any other kind of sexual deviant. Should we accept those people as being “just like us” as well? No. We should have sympathy for anyone born with this kind of curse, but those who act upon these urges and abuse, who do not seek some sort of treatment for their condition and try to get control of it, should be condemned. Those born with crippling disabilities are challenged to overcome their problems every day, and they become stronger people because of it.

The way I see it, if homosexuals want to have sex in the privacy of their own home, it’s on their conscience. Start trying to indoctrinate kids into thinking it’s “normal”, parade down the high street wearing latex, or try to get the state to recognize your relationship as a “marriage”, and you’ve gone too far.

Liberals always say that conservatives should get out of their bedrooms. It’s hard when they bring their bedrooms along to parades, into schools, into government, and everywhere else you can think of.

Well, whomever thinks that things like that are ok for kids doesn’t belong on FR. I wish all the libertarians and atheists members would leave and go someplace more suited to them.

Conservatives and Christians have, IMO, assigned a uniquely extreme sinfulness to homosexual acts that the Bible does not really support. Meanwhile, other sexual sins, which the Bible implies are similar in their degree of sinfulness, are treated by them in practice as merely venial or even not sins at all.

No, they don't, but thank you for playing. The only reason the sin of homosexuality is such a contentious subject is the insistence that it is not a sin or used to be a sin but no longer is. If homosexuality is not a sin, there are no sins.
