I wonder what in the world the Palins were smoking when they came up with the names of their children. They all have some of the silliest names for kids I’ve seen!

It's an Alaskan thing, I guess - Track(self explanatory), Piper(airplane), Bristol (Bay).
We lived in Juneau for 25 years and our veterinarian had three sons named Brick, Skiff, and Timber.

If those are “some of the silliest names for kids” you’ve seen’ you need to get out more.

All of those names are English names of long standing — in addition to the meanings specific to Alaska and the Palins (as mentioned by dainbramaged).

...and you’d have to be a resident of Alaska and living the lifestyle her family does to fully understand why.

Sorta like Solon, Hazel, Brock, Maryon, Lyman, Person, Rufus, Marlow, Winthrop, Judah, Adelbert, Middleton, Orrin, Birch, Asahel, Kinsley, Lemuel, Angus, Price..etc, etc, which most have been U.S.A. Senators/Congressman's names?

I'm about tired and sick of folks here...ragging on what someone is named.

STOP IT!!

I know. Serious political families come up with names like Willard, Herbert, Chelsea and Malia.
