Stop and think - and you will realise that banning guns is a waste of time
Daily Mail ^ | 23 December 2012 | PETER HITCHENS

Ask yourself this. Even if you had a house full of guns and ammunition, would you then murder a close relative, shoot your way into a nearby primary school and massacre as many children as you could?

Of course you wouldn’t. You would have to be mad to do such a thing, and mad in a rather special way.

And if you were mad in that way, and had no gun, you might use other weapons. There are recent instances in various parts of the world of what appear to be attempted mass murder by car, or by knife.

Take what happened just over a week ago in Chenpeng village school, Henan province, in China. Min Yongjun stabbed an elderly woman before hurting 22 children (many very badly) with a kitchen knife.

This isn’t about thinking, this about taking our guns away

Great article: why won’t our government examine the linkage between drugs and mass murders?

I don’t understand any American wanting to take away one of the rights we have. If the 2nd amendment goes then the 1st is not far behind. This is so UNAMERICAN I can’t stand it! If anything we should get more rights. I guess the Patriot Act proves me wrong.

Figure out where you are going to hide your guns. Don’t cooperate. Use passive resistance.

The author was speaking of Britain when he said, “Were guns restricted here because of crime? No, they were restricted because the panicky British government thought there might be a revolution.” But he could have been talking about any government, at any time.

Gun bans have NEVER been about crime. They have ALWAYS about the PTB keeping the masses at bay, to keep them under the government thumb, to keep themselves from being overthrown.

And then what? Just meekly submit? There is an old adage: If it is time to hide your guns, it is time to use them.

Some of it is even simpler: anarcho-tyranny. It is much easier for the goobs to go after law abiding citizens than to attempt to control (never mind disarm) violent gangs. In fact they chose to intentionally arm violent gangs so they could make an example out of straw purchases to justify going after more law abiding citizens. The gangs are first and foremost allies of the government that the politicians (e.g Bloomberg) use to justify more 2A infringements to the stupid people (e.g. many NYC voters). The gangs are used to justify extra police which are then used to infringe 4A rights.

There's one very large group of victims which the lib media never brings up: all the women killed by their ex-husbands because they had no weapon to oppose the mostly stronger male who many times used weapons other than firearms to kill their physically weaker ex-spouse. I don't know how many times in my life I've read a news account of a woman murdered by her ex-husband shortly after the breakup.

Many times the woman was killed in public or emerging from the courthouse after the final papers were signed. I've never heard mention that any of these females were armed and managed to fire back at her attacker. The numbers of these dead women have to be in the thousands. Having a firearm on them certainly would have prevented a great many of those murders.

It may be simpler than that for now. The right of the people to keep and bear arms has the corresponding responsibility to keep (at home) and bear (in public). Since all people are in the militia, there is really no excuse no to be well equipped and well trained (= well regulated). Living up to that responsibility even with a modest firearm is the only way to prevent the mass shootings that the politicians pretend to care about. Abdicating that responsibility means we lose the right.

Everyone knows that...It's purely political at this point...the same "I won" philisophy that's killing us.

The joke is Fast and Furious proved that the Black Market is alive and well and is chomping at the bit for another market.

It's called totalitarianism...

The state is their "god" and gods get to control all aspects of your life since you are incapable of running your own life according to their collective mindset...in other words you are a cog in their system... removing you will help the wheels turn...

There are loads of people in government who would in heartbeat put you up against a wall and put a bullet in your brain if it helped achieve their Marxist goals...

Just look over at DU, KOS, HP...

They don't because of the 2 nd amendment...

It goes beyond that.

Its about taking away our National Identity, our Culture and how Americans view themselves.

Its about Freedom.

Right now, a band of atheist fanatics are trying to ban prayer at West Point.

Freedom of the Press no longer exists - the mainstream media reflect a monoview on every cultural and societal aspect of America.

Whether it is the First, Second, or Tenth Amendment, or any other, there are forces abroad in America which want to remake us - to make America become a clone of the degenerate western socialist states in Europe which are incapable of even protecting their own populations from an invasion of murdering, raping, Islamic fanatics bent on their destruction.

The last election was NOT a blow-out endorsement of Obama, it was a rejection of a particular candidate who was a poor, uninspiring opposition figure.

Its time for Americans to stand up an reject this Marxist and his initiatives in every way possible.

If not, your children will be growing up in a country that resembles England, Greece or Sweden and your grandchildren will be Muslim zombies.

-———this about taking our guns away-——

Which is at the root about the ideological peace and harmony Utopian dream.

Vietnam was the end of war. Peace has resulted, glorious peace. With universal peace, there is no need for defense or the implements of now gone war. Deluded little girls wear pink ribbons and peace symbols. The consider it chic to worship peace. They are destroying America

And then what? Just meekly submit? There is an old adage: If it is time to hide your guns, it is time to use them.

What amazes me are the liberals shouting about the need to "confiscate" weapons. That may fly in the blue states, but how are they going to get those weapons in deep red states? Door to door? Do they not realize that the same forces that they expect to confiscate out weapons are our neighbors, our friends and our families? These same morons who spout hatred and disparage our armed forces now expect them to turn on the rest of us?

I think the whole gun confiscation "lets follow the Aussie model" talk is nonsense, at least as long as Republicans are in the majority and there are more Red State Governors then Blue. Just saying that here is GA getting our guns won't be an easy task.

If the government were to try to confiscate guns the battle would make the Civil War look minor in comparison. Gun control is a dream of idealists that works only in their Utopian world.

First, they pass a law that says certain types of firearms cannot be bought or sold or otherwise transfer ownership.

Then, they will pass a law requiring these certain firearms be registered in order to be considered legal. They may also include storage requirements and inspections by the government with large fines for minor errors.

Then, they will pass a law requiring you to turn in your legal firearms.
