We use Checks and 99% of the time those are electronically cleared at the register.
Why would one be “suspicious” at the Grocery Store because of a check?
We have no Credit Cards and our Debit Card was skimmed - no problem with that with Checking/Cash so far.

The days of not having some sort of plastic are all but over. The manual process of handling a check is a massive hassle that adds little value to the retailer.
Your DR card was hacked? You are supposed to be insured. No reason to stop using one.

Same here no no Credit Cards got dinged once with one,it’s harder for a crook to do checks they don’t like to show ID.
My brother has lifelock and still got dinged for five grand.
If your debit card was skimmed, I don’t blame you for using checks.
