That’s a lot of dimes.

Soon it will take longer to put the money in than the time it pays for.

What an idiot, with zero grasp of history.

Well does your city have a bunch of bad ideas that are costing your city a ton of money?

Well don’t let that worry you. Just tax the people that come to your city for the privilege of coming there.

Don’t give it a second thought that these exorbitant taxes may discourage these people from returning to your city again in the future. Yours is such a wonderful city that no matter how high these taxes become no other city could possibly lure them away.

And don’t give it a second thought that these taxes could ever persuade tax paying corporations to relocate out of your city to another city or state. The advantages of the culture and education opportunities in your city will keep these companies and bring more despite the high tax burden.

Taxes are only a small cost of doing business.

Sure they are.

And just in case it isn’t obvious

In the past I’ve enjoyed going to Chicago. Uno’s, The Pier,
Art and industrial museum a cubs game.
Hell with it, I’ll not go back.

I grew-up in NW Suburbs, Arlington Heights, and went to HS in Mt Prospect. Went back for my 20th HS reunion in ‘87, and couldn’t find the house I grew-up in, the place had changed so radically. Haven’t been back since. Chicago used to be a nice place in 50s, but is like Baghdad, now. Never again.

The meters even charge on a Sunday. The last time we went, due to multiple stops, I wound up spending $60 for parking alone. The Sears Tower was an awful experience. Dine on the 95th floor at the Hancock. Better view and much more civilized. You won’t miss the extra six or seven floors.

Serves them right. For how many generations have they voted in favor of corruption?

How can that happen people?

You all ALWAYS tell me that when things are “privatized” and “market forces” are allowed to work, things become MUCH more efficient - hence cheaper.

You guys all tell me that’s why we need to sell off our highways, including freeways to Spanish companies that charge 30 CENTS PER MILE TO DRIVE, like the Governors of Texas and Indiana did (both idiot Republicans, by the way).

Yes, we can laugh at Democrat politicians that SCREW OVER their people by selling off public assets and handing over monopolies to private (often foreign) companies, but let’s also hold REPUBLICAN politicians, who do the same, accountable.

$6.50 per hour is almost half of some peoples hourly salaries.

Reason number 359 for not going into the city.

A nice summer afternoon near Diversey and LSD, a Chicagoan using his fist, smashed the side window of a parked car to steal a handful of CD’s.

If he was 0bama’s son, by the size of him,he sure took after the mothers side.

Something a few people know if you drive a car with tinted windows that are legal in other states and recently made legal in IL, Chicago still applies the old tint regulations to any car including out of state vehicles. It is a $250 find to tint. The tint law there is you cannot have any kind of tint on the front side windows.

I would not drive into Chicago these days with their outrageous parking rates and fines. And I have dark tinting on my cars as well. The crooks there can do without my money.
