Ted Cruz Spends First Day in the Senate Making News and Making Waves

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, has barely taken his oath of office as a United States Senator and he is already making news. He has a Washington Post op-ed in which he reiterates his "opportunity conservatism" approach to governance.

The first bill he will file will be to repeal Obamacare. This and a combative stance on guns and fiscal policy have gotten the notice of the media.

Here in Texas, we absolutely crushed the republican establishment with the election of Ted Cruz.

Perry and Dewhurst went down in flames and I couldn't be more elated.

This is the only point that I might disagree on. As I understand it, the fiscal cliff deal had no spending cuts, maybe some decreases to proposed increases in spending but no real cuts.

I like that phrase. It’s something that even liberals can understand and it cut’s to the heart of true conservatism. It’s almost Reaganesque.

Wolfie Boy Blitzer probably was at a loss for words when Cruz called Obama intransigent.

No, although states and school districts are free to make their own laws superceding the GFSZA, attacking the bill on a National stage would shift the debate in our favor. Their side is going for broke...we need an equal push back in the opposite direction.
I would also favor repealing the 1968 Gun Control Act, and whatever law took automatic weapons away from American citizens. Ultimate push back to the original intent of the Second Amendment.
They are making more noise than we are so need to go radical.

Now the media, which never looks into the backgrounds of Democratic politicians, will start digging into Ted Cruz’s life from grade school, through college, and his time in Texas politics. I hope he stays strong through all this because we know the liberal establishment and their shadow buddies in the media hate conservative non-white politicians with a venom much worse than that for a white conservative. As someone stated earlier let’s hope he doesn’t come down with “Potomac fever” or fall under the influence of that weasel Mitch McConnell.

We need to go for Cornyn next. Cruz immediately said he will be voting “more conservative” than Cornyn. I believe the Dems will stage a comeback in 2014 if Perry is again the nominee for governor.

My neighborhood has a fair number of folks with automatic weapons. They are owned by folks here providing diplomats protection at foreign embassies ~ etc.

So far no incidents. But these guys are all highly trained.

Automatic weapons are a far different thing than ordinary firearms ~ nobody should even attempt firing one without serious training and practice on a range. One of their little problems that can actually knock people flat on their backs firing at the sky is ROTATION because of recoil. You have to learn to HOLD THE GUN DOWN ~ and that's not something everybody can do successfully. Remember those little 3 round bangers those women had at Waco? There was enough rotation to run those suckers right up the sides of the buildings to where they were firing on their own guys on assault ladders!

Gotta' be weight and strength standards for folks with automatic weapons ~ NO SMALL PEOPLE ALLOWED.

It's going to be a while yet before the recoil problem is properly addressed in a light autofire weapon. Maybe flechettes are the answer ~ might not be up to snuff for combat use, but around the 'hood, you could certainly defend your home with cornermounted Quad F's eh!

Dude's breaking in the window ~ take him out with a cloud of needles. They might break in, but they don't break out!

A lot of things used to be left to the states. The states rights should be a key strategy, but during a statist regime federalizing everything through the media, seems we have a few willing to meet the opposition on the field— in the media.

As long as the Sith Palpatine Barack Hussen Obama doesn’t approach Cruz and promise him wealth and power if he serves under him as his apprentice, maybe...O’ has a supernatural ability to convert weak minded people and put them under his sell.

Rubio is not eligible to be President, as his father was not a citizen when Marco was born. I doubt if I will even vote in 2016 - doubt if any of us will - but I won’t vote for Rubio. Obama the Ineligible Twice was bad enough.
