I doubt that any of his offendings are new to these students.
Good point. This CRM 495 course, after all, is for 21- and 22-year-olds, not adolescents. Surely they'd be sufficiently grown-up by now? By age alone, if not by previous exposure to Professor Adams's teaching style?
Of course, we do now live under The Tyranny of the Easily Offended. Mature adults must park their thinking caps and don their inner-adolescent at the classroom door. Too bad that the free exchange of ideas as well as stimulating, spirited discussions also remain outside the classroom door as a result.
My nieces and nephews relate stories all the time about the kowtowing they have to do to their leftist professors - no matter what the subject matter is supposed to be. Since they have heard alternative views in their own families they are aware of the slant, and the ‘liberties’ taken by their professors. Unfortunately, too many children have not been exposed at all to other than leftist views.
Starting in pre-school children are being encouraged to believe that their parents are uninformed and it is up to the child to ‘educate’ the parent.
Condescend much? May you reach new heights and someday, mayhap, ignore us toads altogether.
Meanwhile, dude, you got a walkthrough for my little mind to follow Mike Adams?
News Flash. The last I checked I am not a dude, never have been. Just saying
I work at a major university, though not as a professor. (Far from it. I'm a lowly IT guy.) It breaks my heart that those causing all the kowtowing are therefore the very ones stifling true critical thinking, the free exchange of ideas, and darn near everything else that higher education purports to provide.
Unfortunately, too many children have not been exposed at all to other than leftist views. Starting in pre-school children are being encouraged to believe that their parents are uninformed and it is up to the child to educate the parent.
Which is more than just heartbreaking, is it not? It's downright chilling. I wonder how long it will be until the children are encouraged not to educate their "uninformed" parents, but to turn in them in?
Though I doubt Kaslin needs me to jump in, here goes.
I am curious, HAL, about your objection. If we were talking about high school students, I'd be right with you. But we're not: it's a 400-level college course. The students are seniors in college. Should we not expect men and women in their early twenties attending college to be mature? If not in college, then when?
In post #23 you chide Kaslin with "Condescend much?" So my inner busy-body kicked in, and I am compelled to ask: how is Kaslin's comment in post #15 condescending? I just don't see it. (Not that it's any of my business mind you. Just curious.)
And has it escaped your notice that your own comment, quoted above, is itself condescending? Surely you see this? Will you give yourself a pass but not Kaslin?

We now return to our regularly scheduled discussion thread. Cheers.
tomkat: well into his fourth decade as a proud non-giver of a shite & abyss puller-backer !
The day the liberal bleaters get smacked in the face is the day we start pulling back from the abyss
any kid that uses the word “sucks” should be slapped
Slight correction: Smear the Queer is NOT dodgeball. When playing smear the queer, the object was to throw a ball to one specific person, who then tries to run from the rest of the group which is trying to tackle said person with the ball as violently as possible. Now, that was entertainment!
