(Ahem) When they realized that there wasn't anything we could do to stop it from hitting us, they just said it would miss. No panic that way.

“To put that in some perspective, the moon is 240,000 miles away and several GPS satellites orbit at 26,000 miles. So, the asteroid will come within orbits of satellites. No need to worry though, NASA assures us that their calculations show that it will not strike the earth. We’re from the government and we’re here to help you.
Let’s hope NASA double-checked their math.”
Would that be the NASA that forgot to convert from feet to meters? Or would that be the NASA that is shilling global warming and muslim outreach? Or maybe that’s the NASA without launch capability to get a person to the space station?

Just wait until the comet in 2014. People will get so freaked about that it’s gonna be silly. It’s supposed to be as bright or brighter than a full moon.
Can’t wait for the idiots to go crazy,

I guess the Mayans were off by a couple months.
To: blam
So the Mayans were 2 months off.
Rounding error. They can’t be blamed.

Maybe it will hit mecca. Twenty or thirty megatons should rap up that nasty problem...

Not to discount it, buy at 2 megatons it’s not much of a doomsday meteor.

Maybe it will clear out some of the orbital junk that it up there.
To: struggle
Yep, the meteor that caused the crater in Arizona was 50 meters across and triggered an estimated 10 megaton explosion.
2 megatons could wipe out a city but would not cause planetary impacts. But I'm sure that won't stop the usual nitwits from turning it into another end-of-the-world conspiracy theory.

Just wait until the comet in 2014.If you're referring to
Comet Ison, it should become visible in Sept of this year, and may become brighter than a full moon. Way cool.

It’s the NASA who doesn’t understand what happens to space shuttles that have cracked o-rings and broken heat-shield tiles. B@st@rds.
