On his Monday radio show, conservative talker Mark Levin said that if President Barack Obama sidesteps Congress on the debt ceiling fight and attacks the Congress’ constitutionally enumerated “core power” – that is control over spending and taxing — through executive action, Congress will have “no choice” but impeachment.
Levin explained that if unilateral action by the White House — which White House spokesman Jay Carney ruled out — were to happen, it would infringe on Congress’ “core power” and should be punished with impeachment.
“Now, if Obama unilaterally acts — and I think there’s a fan-dance going on here where his spokes-idiot [Jay] Carney is out there saying, ‘No, we’ve decided we’re not going to do this’ — if Obama, though, plays the role of Hamlet and in the end says ‘I have no choice: The Republicans are going to destroy our economy, our debt rating, all this that and the other, therefore I must unilaterally act,’ he should be impeached,” Levin declared. “Because that means Congress’ core power — in addition to declaring war — Congress’ core power, that is control over spending and taxing, will have been seized by the president of the United States in one executive order.”
“No Congress would tolerate this from any president,” Levin continued. “I don’t care if the president was Abraham Lincoln. This Congress would not have tolerated it from Richard Nixon. No Congress can tolerate such a complete and brazen frontal assault on its enumerated power. No Congress. No twisting of the language in the 14th Amendment or any way else, because we will cease to be a federal government of three coequal branches. We will cease to be that.”
And that, Levin said, would throw the entire American constitutional system of government out of order.
“And what are we going to do, ladies and gentlemen?” he said. “Throw our entire system away? Our entire Constitution away? Our entire financial system away for Obama? Why?”
“So, if a president commits a high crime and misdemeanor, which in this case is a brazen frontal attack on the Constitution itself in a way that no president has ever attacked the Constitution — ceasing power unilaterally from the Congress — then we have no choice, do we?” Levin added. “Do we, than to remove him from office? What do you think about that one, Colin Powell?”
Earlier in the day, Texas Republican Rep. Steve Stockman made headlines for threatening that he would file articles of impeachment against Obama if the president institutes gun control measures with an executive order.
No they aren’t. The Stimulus bills passed with NO Republican votes.
The President can only do what the House of Reps finances him to do...
Whatever Obama has done the House underwrote and financed..

As of today, there is only ONE way to stop Obama: DO NOT RAISE THE DEBT CEILING. Any other option will fail, so wasting time talking about them is to avoid talking about the real solution.
I would not be so sure if there aren’t enough votes in the House to impeach that arrogant pos, however there are not enough votes in the Senate to remove him, thanks to those who stayed home on November 6 instead of making sure we get the Senate back. We had an excellent chance to do so

As with BJ Clinton, the House can impeach. The Senate will, of course, not convict but just hamstringing President Omega is of considerable value.

Bless you, Levin for saying it, but that doesn’t mean that there is one single testicle that the congress-critters share among themselves.
levin is all talk and a blowhard..He huff’s and puff’s about being a “Constitutional Scholar” but nary a peep from him about the Eligibility hub-bub. Pelosi has a bigger sack than levin..
I cannot believe that the House Republicans aren't chanting this every time they get in front of a camera.
The only possible explanation is that they are benefiting in their local districts.
Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and now President Omega have perpetrated a coup on the government and if the House cannot control the debt limit the coup becomes complete.

That arrogant pos thinks just because he won the election he can #1 disregard the Constitution which gives Congress the power to collect and spend money not the president to use the Executive Order to get to raise the dept limit and spend what he wants. #2 to disregard the second amendment and his plan to take the guns away from lawful citizens through an illegal EO
Mark Levin is my hero. I have been a daily podcast listener since the Monday after ObamaCare was signed. I knew about him before that, had seen him on Rush’s TV show, and had read 2 of his books, Men in Black and Liberty & Tyranny. My mother (RIP - 2007) was a huge fan. Always talking about his show and what he was saying. She was 84 when she died. I live in the boonies and could not pick up his show, plus we had dial up for many years and could not do downloads. The week before Obamacare was signed we got DSL. He is brilliant and funny and speaks the truth with courage. I was a loyal Rush listener for about 15+ years, after I started listening to Mark I could not/can’t bear to listen to Rush anymore. After having the lobster and steak, you just can’t go back to cheese and crackers. When Mark was on his Christmas vacation I tried listening to Rush just once, just can’t do it. His book Ameritopia is just as brilliant and I am anxiously awaiting his new book. His books should be mandatory high school and college reading. Mark’s got it all and besides leading the way for many of us, he also has the capacity for great love for people and animals, compassion for his audience. He respects most of them and you just don’t hear that from Rush. I even joined facebook under an alias just so I could visit his facebook page. That’s all I use it for. So if you are unfamiliar with Mark, listen to his show or read one of his books. He is my hero.
If you were to get me started Kaslin, I would say that most everything which has occurred since the end of President Reagan terms has been a violation of the Constitution. I truly believe President Reagan tried to stop the illusions in D.C. and return sanity to D.C. Those governing in D.C. decided to go another way, create an illusion and return to a time when there was a king or tyrants, for it mattered not to those elected and appointed the road or path, instead what mattered was / is illusions. Illusions can last for just so long, then comes reality. What the coming reality will be I know not. What illusion will spring up next I know not. America is saddled with a government and people in government believing they do not have to obey the law. The rule of law does not exist in D.C. and the Constitution is spat upon every day by most all of the elected and appointed. I do know our nation is not living in reality, and when reality returns, reality normally bites one in the end leaving a mark. Have thoughts this coming reality is going to take a large chunk of all our a$$e$. May my thoughts be wrong.

I have nothing against presidents using executive orders when necessary. After all George Washington was the first president to use it and every president has used it since then. But when some arrogant pos uses it, because he thinks he can sidestep the Constitution and do what he wants. That is going to far imho
Agreement ... and a thought. Sidestepping the Constitution has been going on for far too long. As was said in the movie, the Patriot, and sometimes I wonder why our Nation tolerates what has come to be, thus as was said in the movie, “Why should I trade one tyrant three thousand miles away for three thousand tyrants one mile away?” Regrettably our Nation is there, and facing this question.
