Sandy Hook and Christopher Rodia – Most ‘Conspiracy Theorists’ Can’t Think
JoeQuinn.com ^ | January 11, 2013 | Joe Quinn

Posted on 01/16/2013 5:55:19 AM PST by Uncle Chip

Apparently many alternative news pundits and Sandy Hook conspiracy theorists are still fixated on the idea that a man named Christopher Rodia was the REAL owner of the black Honda Civic that has been identified as the car of Adam Lanza’s mother and which was found outside the Sandy Hook elementary school.

The basis for this erroneous belief is police scanner audio that was picked up from the morning of Dec. 14th and details Connecticut State Police response to the massacre.

I obtained the original audio files from Radioreference.com. I had to pay a small sum for the full files. I have listened to them, and it is pretty clear that it is rather unlikely that the aforementioned Christopher Rodia had anything to do with the Sandy Hook massacre, even if his name and DOB is mentioned in the audio. This doesn’t seem to dissuade the conspiracy nuts though. In fact, it just makes them even nuttier.

What so many of these nutty people have apparently missed is the fact that the audio files clearly contain police communications about MORE than just the Sandy Hook event.

In the audio streams there are several communications from Connecticut State police who are clearly not involved in the response to Sandy Hook and are just out there doing their ‘normal’ jobs of stopping people for no reason and catching speeding drivers.

The Connecticut State police scanner audio from the morning of Dec. 14th 2012, as provided by Radioreference.com, begins at 9.34am and lasts for one hour until 10.34am i.e. it begins at about the time Lanza is said to have entered the school and lasts for one hour.

“Is that not a rifle?”

No, that is not a rifle

“Or some kind of gun that the general public would think is a rifle?”

You’re probably going to have to take a poll to answer that question, but sure, I can see many people making that mistake.

But you can’t know unless you look hard at evidence instead of running around saying NUTTER NUTTER NUTTER

But you're not looking at the evidence. You're running away from it.

If I had to believe the things you do to keep my guns then I would tell them here take my guns. It's better to keep my mind and lose my guns than vice versa.

Or maybe her dad just pulled her hand out of her mouth seconds before the camera flashed (but missed the younger sister, hah).

Sorry, my three youngest are 13 months apart (Irish triplets), trying to get a photo of all three of them smiling at the camera photogenically simultaneously is why photoshop was invented.

“And 90% of the people in this country including probably most of the kids in Sandy Hook school would probably know the difference.”

For most shotguns, I would agree with you, but that is a semiautomatic, tactical-style model that actually looks a bit superficially similar to some assault rifles, so I can see where folks with just a general knowledge of guns would make the mistake.

However, it is most definitely a shotgun and not any kind of rifle. I do not pretend to be a gun expert, nor do I play one on tv, and I didn’t even stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but I can tell that with 100% certainty.

“You are replying to a poster who just said that local police said it was not true that a long gun was found in the trunk of the car.”

No, I did not say that. I said the police said that it was not true that the “long rifle” was found in the car. “Long gun” and “long rifle” are not interchangeable terms.

The same can be said about assault weapon.

I don’t know the technical aspect but I have seen claims that an AR-15 rifle is not necessarily an assault weapon.

It takes certain specifications to make it an assault weapon.

I can see local law enforcement calling a weapon the wrong thing. Rifle for long gun.
Long gun for Rifle

Etc.

“It is too much to ask because I believe in looking at evidence and seeing where it leads.”

The problem is, we don’t have hardly any evidence to look at yet, because nobody will wait until the investigation releases the evidence. If you want to pore over the investigative reports and appendices line by line to see if we can poke holes in it, I’ll be right there with you. Until we have something to go on, however, you are just shooting in the dark.

“So for example, the people who claim that Sandy Hook was a hoax point to time stamps. Instead of going “LA LA LA NUTTER NUTTER NUTTER” people should be figuring out why info had those time stamps. It is also a way of debunking the argument.”

Yes, and some people have done just that, and the conspiracy nuts continue citing the google search as evidence regardless. I even demonstrated to a few people today that I could recreate the “anomaly” for any randomly chosen time or event, but nobody cares because they would rather go on repeating untruths that further their conspiracy theory.

“Same with the photo. She has no apparent legs. Is it photoshopped.”

I really don’t care. The girl appears to be sitting with her legs to the side, and my guess is that she is wearing black leggings that blend in with her mother’s black pants. I actually do have the know-how to examine it to see if it was photoshopped, but I can’t be bothered, because the idea is so ludicrous.

I am not running away from anything.

If you had ever witnessed the barrage that was aimed at me for the direct hit I made for taking on Donofrio and that other guy about Obama’s British citizenship then you would know I do not run away.

however, at this moment I am because I am headed to the American Idol thread to read the snark and get some laughs.

Yeah, I don’t care who calls me a kook over that, either.

An AR-15 is basically a civilian version of an assault rifle, but it doesn’t meet the classic definition of assault rifle because of the modifications made to make it legal for civilian use. Assault weapon is a different term, invented by liberals to scare people, and it seems to mean whatever they want it to mean.

“I can see local law enforcement calling a weapon the wrong thing. Rifle for long gun.
Long gun for Rifle”

Law enforcement people don’t usually make mistakes like that, they know firearms and the terminology because it is an intimate part of their job, and they could ruin court cases by using the improper term in a piece of paperwork.

Now, here is how it works. “Long gun” is a general term that includes both rifles and shotguns, of any type. “Long rifle” is not a very often used term, but it means only rifles, and specifically full-size rifles, and not carbines. I suspect the only confusion going on here is on the part of the media, which is kind of betrayed by their using the phrase “long rifle”, when they could have just said “rifle”. The reporters don’t seem to know the difference between a “long gun” and a rifle, and get the terms confused, resulting in the question about the “long rifle”, which is just redundant in this case, since there are no carbines to distinguish from.

I imagine that someone told a reporter on day one that they found a “long gun” in the trunk, and other reports which specifically listed weapons found inside the school only mentioned one “long gun”, the AR-15. So, someone concluded wrongly that the “long gun” in the trunk must be the AR-15. If you watch the video, it clearly is not an AR-15, or any type of rifle, so there is no reason for this confusion or rumor to continue to spread.

Carol Moore's account of the Concrete Room is indicative of how the government rolls.

Women and children seek shelter. A federal places a shaped charge on the roof.

All the women and children are killed.

The FLIR analyst for the survivors Carlos Ghigliotti was on the verge of finalizing his evidence over 200 shots were fired into the building on the final assault.

Ghigliotti was found dead at his computer.

Same government this year; different Janet.

“So, go ask the police department, and explain to them why it is so crucial that they clear up the matter of the weapon, and who knows? Maybe they will give you an answer, and you can share it with the rest of us. If you’re not willing to do that, then I can only conclude that you care more about trumpeting a conspiracy theory than you do about finding out the truth.”

I think I’ll do that tomorrow. Thanks for the contact info. Here’s a conspiracy theory for you. Obamas justice dept sold guns to known gun traffickers who they knew would transfer them to Mexican drug cartels. They would be used to kill hundreds if not thousands of Mexicans and even law enforcement here in the US.

You: your a nutter.

You shown proof: Bush did it too!!!!!!

Now, knowing what I said is true about Fast and furious, do you seriously believe that information would not be suppressed about the killings in Newtown?

Oh, here’s a new one. Did you know that Manti teo’s girlfriend is not really dead?

You: you’re a nutter

You shown proof she never existed: “told you she wasn’t dead”

The investigation isn’t over yet, so no there isn’t something like an “official timeline”. The best we’ve got, I think, is the police radio logs, since they are a record of what was going on as it happened, and they are publicly available.

You made me curious about Carlos Ghigliotti as I had no memory of him. Alamo Girl has a page about him, you’ve probably seen it.

http://www.alamo-girl.com/03604.htm

About half an inch down is a long account by
Freeper Ada Coddington 4/29/00 David Hardy http://www.wizardsofaz.com/waco/carlos.html

Ending with this paragraph;
On April 19 of this year, from the hotel room in Waco, I called Carlos to report a minor discovery (the roof of the storm shelter, which glows bright white on the FLIR, wasn’t just plywood—it was covered in black asphalt, which explained why it got so hot in the sun.). I got his answering machine, but when it came time to leave a message, the tape just said “tape finished. Thank you for calling.” I thought he’d run out of tape—never happened before, but who knows? I tried again from time to time — same result. I sent email asking him to call. Well, maybe he was out of town. Early today I tried again, and this time nothing picked up, the phone just rang off the hook.

Then this afternoon I received a call. Carlos was found dead in his apartment.

I’m pretty sure that is a shotgun in the trunk. What I am also sure of is it’s dark. So, how long does it take, after one of the most infamous mass killings ever, for the DAMN POLICE TO SEARCH THE KILLERS CAR!!!!!!

First of all, don’t assume I just dismiss conspiracy theories out of hand, because I do not. I just don’t accept any of them uncritically, because I have learned that more often than not, they are a load of rubbish.

“Now, knowing what I said is true about Fast and furious, do you seriously believe that information would not be suppressed about the killings in Newtown?”

Yes, I don’t believe it, because I’ve seen no evidence for it. Also, I don’t see why they would need to do it. They want to ban all guns, not just one type of gun. If Lanza used handguns, they’d push to ban handguns. If he used a sniper rifle with a high-powered scope, they would push to ban those. It just so happens that he used an AR-15, so they are happy to try to ban them.

The left is opportunistic, all they have to do is wait for an incident and they go to town. No conspiracy is required, so why would they go to the trouble to concoct one and risk having it backfire?

“Oh, here’s a new one. Did you know that Manti teo’s girlfriend is not really dead?”

I don’t even know who Manti Teo is, I had to google him. So I really don’t care about his dead or not dead girlfriend.

What? you don't believe that fast and furious was a conspiracy? I just showed you two way out and wacky stories that anyone with any sense would look at skeptically. And guess what? Dang if they weren't true. So, I guess you aren't a football fan being that Manti te’o is arguably the most famous college football player currently? Well whatever. His girlfriend still aint dead, exactly, well it's kinda hard to say.

I think his car was the first thing they searched and they found the shotgun in the trunk and just left it there. A witness saw the car doors had been opened and things in there strewn about.

When they entered the school they found the Bushmaster, thus this in the police dispatch:

9:55:25: “Be advised, we have multiple weapons. One rifle and a shotgun

Since the shotgun wasn't used in the shooting they left it there and checked it later that night.
