I’m assuming a 501(c)4.

The story says tax-exempt, which would be a 501(c)3.

501(c)3 organizations cannot do anything political. Churches are 501(c)3 organizations. This is why everyone gets upset when preachers talk politics from the pulpit. Theoretically the church’s 501(c) designation could be pulled for that.

501(c)4 organizations, on the other hand, can be political. The various Tea Party organizations are 501(c)4. There are very strict reporting requirements for a 501(c)4. Much more narrow and strict than a 501(c)3.

I fully expect Organizing For America to be the most corrupt organization nobama has. Lot of ways to funnel dirty money to his friends.
