Ever the provocateur, Rob was on Twitter ripping on Obama’s inaugural comments in real time, only to draw a rebuke from a member of the MSM who said that today he should “give it a rest” and “celebrate that we can do this peacefully.”

That got me thinking: Do what peacefully? Throw a huge, expensive party (regardless of who paid for it) so that official Washington can celebrate itself?

Yesterday's panoply of faces and events reminded me of my top six pet peeves that seem to pop up on television seemingly for centuries. We never seem to get rid of these annoying assaults on our eyes and ears....even when we think we're done with them, there they are still hanging in there and still irritating us by their mere presence.

I totally agree that the “celebration” was a huge waste of taxpayer's money. Reminds me of the Hollywood types paradeing around in their finery, patting themselves on the back, and for what? They contribute NOTHING directly to our GNP. More hype for no good reason.
