Arizona sheriffs say NO to executive orders and laws on gun control

As the war on gun ownership widens, two more sheriffs have said that they will not enforce any law, or executive order that they deem unconstitutional.

It was reported by Infowars yesterday, Jan. 25, 2013 that Arizona’s Pinal County Sheriff, Paul Babeu who was recently re-elected to that office by his constituents told the president that he will not obey any law created by a presidential “executive order.”

He did this in a letter to the president, in which he told President Obama that,

“The most important office in our republic is that of a private citizen. You are not a dictator or a king, who can act unilaterally and ignore our legislative process of law making.”

Then he continues later in the letter and says;

“I am writing you this letter today to inform you that any “law” or regulation created by an executive order of your office which is contrary to what the Constitution of the United States of America says, shall be deemed as unlawful and shall not be carried out by myself or my office.”

However, he is not alone in his feelings about new gun laws and executive orders. Another sheriff in the great Southwest United States feels the same way. That means Sheriff Babeu has someone in his corner on that issue.

The other sheriff would be, the sometimes controversial Sheriff Joe Arpaio, of Maricopa County, Arizona. In an interview with Mike Broomhead of KFYI Radio in Phoenix, Arizona, Arpaio spoke bluntly about the issue. The interview is nearly 9 minutes long and Arpaio seems to be taking a very firm stand. (Listen to the interview here)

Ironic, the feds take AZ to court to get them to STOP enforcing federal immigration laws, but expect them to enforce fed gun laws.

Don’t count on Dupnik, the Sheriff of Pima County. He blamed he Tea Party when a Marxist punk shot Gabby Giffords in the face and killed a number of others.

Sadly the one in Washoe county NV can NOT be counted amongst that number. He apparently has no problem with “assault weapon” and magazine cap restrictions. As long as the deputies can have select fire rifles and high cap magazines. I believe they use the “high powered” .223 rounds as opposed to the much less powerful civilian version. Thankfully there are quite a few sheriffs in NV that are on board.

Molon labe.

He will not obey any law created by a presidential “executive order.”

The entire leftist agenda is implemented by un-Constitutional "delegation" of authority to make federal regulations. To take it one step further and attempt to use EO's as "laws" is grounds for at minimum impeachment and at maximum revolution.

The President is not a King. He's the chief executive, beholden to his board of directors: the Congress. He can make no law.

I’m wondering what will happen between states or within a state if someone, arrested or prosecuted in one jurisdiction seeks sanctuary in another?

Meanwhile Biden and family is secretly behind the scenes working to abolish the power sheriffs have across the country.

What will anyone do when being a sheriff in itself is illegal?

Fully support Sheriff Babeu, and don't know if this is the Sheriff's wording or the author's, but if it's created by an EO, it ain't a law. The Won [Again] ain't a legislator. He quit that job to take the one he has now. I don't care if he does think he's the Emperor of the Universe, the Constitution doesn't grant him the power to make law on a whim, or to make one at all for that matter. I think the Sheriff or the author, whomever phrased it that way, did liberty and limited government a disservice to say it that way.

I wonder if the Sheriff of the county in which the state capital is located could arrest Plagiarist Jr. for openly defying the state constitution, rather than trying to amend it.

I saw that. I *think* THAT would make ANY wussy sheriff change his mind if he thought he wasn’t going to support the Second Amendment!

No he didn't, he pussed out, at least by Arpaio standards. He didn't take a stand on his department enforcing unConstitutional edicts (though it sounded like he probably wouldn't), and affirmatively said he wouldn't be arresting any feds FOR enforcing them in Maricopa county.

“I’m guessing sheriff Dupnik aka dumbprick wasn’t one of them.”

Maybe he should join his “brother sheriff” up in Salt Lake County , Utah. That pud was the only one of Utah’s sheriffs not to sign the same kind of letter to FUBO. I think though, that Utah should get credit for 28 out of 29 sheriffs upholding the Constitution and more specifically the 2A. If the rest of the country had those kind of numbers, this whole issue of GC would be moot! Here in CA 12 out of 58 are on board thus far. I’ve asked our Sheriff here in Contra Costa County to make public his views, but so far, he’s still hiding under his desk.
