President Obama said that he “goes skeet-shooting all the time,” a comment that apparently has the White House press corps a little suspicious.
A reporter today asked White House Press Secretary Jay Carney how often Obama goes shooting and why hasn’t the press corps heard about this before? Carney simply referred her to Obama’s statement.
Is there a photo of the president shooting? “There may be, but I haven’t seen it,” Carney replied. He didn’t mention if he had personally seen Obama go shooting.
First, in the entire time that he lived in Hawaii...he very likely never handled a shotgun. During the time in California and Columbia University...he didn’t handle a gun at that point. As a community rep, and later a state legislative guy...I don’t believe he handled a gun then. He might have gone out as a senator and shot locally in Virginia or Maryland.
Second, the fact that no photo exists of him at a skeet range...ever...kinda makes this comical. The question of who he shot skeet with....ought to pop up....but no one seemed to want to ask that question.

Me: So, Mr. President you shoot skeet. Do you eat them afterwards?
BO: Why yes. There is nothing more satisfying than killing and dressing your on inanimate object for dinner. My favorite recipe for clay pigeons is Braised Pigeons in Chocolate Sauce .
Me: Is there a secret to preparation?
BO: I like to soak them overnight in salt water and boil them for a long time to make them tender.
Me: Does the rest of the family eat them?
BO: Michelle loves them. She says they are good for her hips.

I see a quick trip, in the very near future, to Camp David. I also see a skeet shooting photo returning with him.
Liberace would SOOOO proud. The little lace hhanky in the left hand is a nice touch ... heavily perfumed no doubt. BTW, is that Larry Sinclair in the back of the limo?
Why even bother going in person, they Photoshop/fake/stage so many other photos and things....
..........I’ll bet they are going to create some Potemkin village skeet shoot this weekend w him in a shooters vest w 4 other people on the line etc etc. I’ll bet they even show him hitting two clays at once..................
I’ll bet that Zer0 can even beat Kim Jung Il by hitting six skeet with only two shells. We can now all bow down to the supreme leader!
Someone hand him a beat up 870 Remington and a box of shells. It’ll take about a minute to see if he has fired one in his life. Anybody wanna bet? I get to pick my side first.

I came across a website with a message board that described an incident at the Camp David skeet range during the Reagan era:
“Reminds me of the story my buddy told me that happened while he was a Marine stationed at Camp David during the Reagan years. One day VP Bush and his sons showed up and wanted to go out to the range to shoot. My buddy was charged with assembling the presidential shotguns and ammo and they proceeded to shoot. Well, one of the sons (I can’t remember which one but IT WAS NOT our latest President), placed a different gauge shot shell into the 12 gauge and squeezed off. According to Mike, he could have been killed but apparently got dusted up a bit. Well, the CO wanted to throw the book at Mike for somehow getting different shells mixed with the guns but Old man Bush stepped in and said to forget the whole matter.”

The story of “the shotgun incident” with V.P. Bush and sons is absolutely true. I was a Marine guard at Camp David at that time. I was coming on duty at the same time the SOG came into the guardhouse with the shotgun and told us what had just happened. I actually held the shotgun in question, it was a 12 gauge custom made European skeet gun. One of the “Bush Boys” had put a 20 gauge shell in by mistake, it peeled the barrel from the chamber about 5 to 6 inches up the barrel. We all had a good laugh about that. I believe it was Jeb but I don’t remember for sure. Jeb and George W. were the ones at the range that day,but no one was hurt just shaken up. As far as the Marines at the range, it wasn’t the ones mentioned in the message board. John Anna was a “boot” and Mike “Miller Lite” was a L/Cpl at the time. Unless they policed the range afterwards. The SOG was the Rangemaster at the Skeet range that day. This is one of the stories I tell friends about my Camp David days.
