Texas Senator Tells Chicago Mayor To Back-Off Gun Manufacturers (Cruz Tells Off Emanuel)

Texas Senator Ted Cruz wants Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel to back of gun manufacturers. The Republican senator issued a response to Emanuel’s letter to banks which do business with gun makers.

The Lone Star politician considers the former Obama administration official a bully. Cruz told gun companies that Texas banks would welcome their business and offered to personally introduce them to leading lenders.

Senator Cruz’s response to Rahm Emanuel stated:

“Your city’s longstanding policies stripping citizens of their Constitutional rights to keep and bear arms have, in turn, produced some of the very highest murder rates in the nation. Regardless, directing your attack at legitimate firearms manufacturers undermines the Second Amendment rights of Texans. In the future, I would ask that you keep your efforts to diminish the Bill of Rights north of the Red River.”

The Texas Senator’s Rahm Emanuel response also maintained the Chicago mayor was trying to deprive law-abiding citizens of the right to bear arms, the Washington Examiner notes. Mayor Emanuel’s letter was sent to both the Bank of America and TD Bank. Both banks extend a massive line of credit to two major American gun manufacturers.

Ted Cruz also told the two gun manufacturers targeted in the Chicago mayor’s letter not to hesitate to call him for assistance in relocating their funds. The Texas elected officials made note of Rahm Emanuel’s alleged nickname, “The Godfather” in his letter to the banks.

Cruz, a new senator, has garnered a plethora of positive response to his Rahm Emanuel letter on his Facebook page. Constituents are referring to the Texas Republican as a patriot and applauding his courage to speak out in support of the Second Amendment. The entire Ted Cruz letter can be read by clicking here.

What a marketing opportunity for the Texas banks.

Ted Cruz - proud to say that’s the guy I voted for! If Dewhurst had won, I doubt we would have heard a peep out of him.

“I’m finding more reasons every day to admire Senator Cruz! Wish we had 50 more just like him!”

Why only 50? There are 100 senators.

Can’t imagine any good tax reasons to stay in IL ,but can imagine not wanting to make employees move.

Funding the beast to they can screw you even harder makes no sense, but republicans are adroit at feeding the crocs so they’re eaten last.

Talking to a friend with a tree service here in MN last night. With the new taxes coming courtesy of Marx Dayton ,he is considering moving to WI.

Really, must you describe courage with such a crude term. There are ladies present, you know.

Can we please stop using that crude term to describe courage?

Better put some ice on it, Dead Fish.

Kudos, Cruz.

Well, since you are a lady, I assume you finished that sentence with the word “spine”.

It is up to us ladies to elevate the discourse and get our language out of the gutter. Restoring our culture starts with small steps.

Not being a lawyer, I have to wonder if the mayor's efforts could be considered tortious interference with the business of firearms manufacturers? It seems to be precisely what's described below:
Tortious interference with business relationships occurs where the tortfeasor acts to prevent the plaintiff from successfully establishing or maintaining business relationships. This tort may occur when a first party's conduct intentionally causes a second party not to enter into a business relationship with a third party that otherwise would probably have occurred. Such conduct is termed tortious interference with prospective business relations, expectations, or advantage or with prospective economic advantage.
Wikipedia reference

Can anyone in the FReeper legal community confirm (or debunk) what I'm thinking? Hasn't Rahm opened himself up to lawsuits over his statements?

Cruz is getting off to a great start! I noticed he was one of the 19 who stood with Rand Paul to vote against sending F-16s to Egypt. It would be nice to double that number of Senators next election.

You assume incorrectly.

I told Portman’s office EXACTLY what I meant...that he better find his, and he better stop patronizing the bastard in the White House.

And then I mentioned the troops, budget cuts, and the First Fatass and her vacations and fine dining.

I make no apologies whatsoever.

He can run. He was born in Canada, but to American parents. So he was a cotizen “at birth.”. This effectively became the consensus after McCain ran (Panama Canal Zone).

I agree with you about civil discourse and all, but it ain’t working. Maybe you should try the opposite approach whenever they use crude words such as “balls.” Fight fire with fire. After all, if they don’t get called out by the Admins for crudeness, neither should we, right?

It’s simple, really. Once you’re done reading the offensive thread and ready to move on, throw out this magic little phrase at them and then leave. They won’t be able to resist. The crudest among them will all congregate on that thread, sitting around jabber-jawing, burping, and scratching their privates. And while they’re all preoccupied with their “manly activity,” you can read the OTHER threads in peace, thus keeping your delicate sensitivities intact.

“Shutup, you p*ssy.”
