I would kind of agree...the Today Show is a sacred cow on NBC. If they are doing well...they can carry the rest of the new bureau...no matter how far down they are. Well...presently, the Today Show is in trouble. I’m not sure that a cosmetic change or a leadership change is enough.

Comcast is going to work 2 angles on fixing the Today Show. First is cost cutting (ie. getting rid of Matt Lauer, reducing overhead, production staff, etc). That will satisfy Comcast’s immediate needs. They will give the new leader 2 years or so to turn around the show with changes in formats as long as all of the cost-cutting is made quickly.

It doesn’t seem like it be to hard to fix. Just copy what FOX does. Fire most of the staff that is morally corrupt (probably 85% of them), hire people with character and at least some level of conservative values, and their ratings would explode.
