"I mean, it's horrible. There's no running water. There's no power. They are having to use the restroom in buckets and bags."
"It's like a bunch of savages on there," he added. "If you get on the blogs, they're saying that people are fighting over food and stuff."
Toby Barlow told CNN that his wife, Ann, a passenger on the ship, texted that the plumbing failed and people were defecating in bags and urinating in showers.
She also told him there's "sewage running down the walls and floors," he said.

Apparently not the love boat....
I wonder how the MSM will cover this... Do cruise lines donate primarily to liberals? If so it’ll be downplayed.
Anyone who gets on a Carnival Cruise Ship deserves whatever happens. They are the trashy party ship of the seas.
Throw in a Somali “pirate” attack and it sounds like it would make a good movie. The Love Boat From Hell.
Wonder when they will start the raping and killing.
Is this another ‘Superdome’ ?
Is this even true ?
Well, they will NEVER forget this vacation.
The Captain’s Buffet is on the Lido Deck. In a half hour it will have seeped down to the Riviera Deck.
Since big ships have been sending over food and water why have they not taken passengers OFF the same way ???
Im surprised they havent done that...
it sounds like the santitary conditions are way past unhealthy..
what happens when they start getting sick BEFORE Thursday ???
IMO the msm is usually pretty hard on cruise lines, they are a money making industry after all but you only hear about them in the news when its a bad story.
On the plus side, you can fart all you want and nobody will notice.
They need to fly Geraldo out there immediately.
Is this a story about a cruise ship, or post Obama america (U.S.S.A)?
I can’t quite tell...

"Was that wrong?"
ANYONE who gets underway ON PURPOSE deserves what THEY get.
From a shipboard auxiliary engineering perspective there is no excuse for this despite the power outage. The plumbing can be routed to facilitate manual clearing - unless their engineer is as drunk as the Italian “look kids the eiffel tower” captain.
There, fixed it. Powered-down cruise ship not required.
My wife’s father calls them a floating Motel 6 with an all you can eat denny’s on board.
Sounds like this one is digressing into Lord of the Flies.
A truly horrid cruise line. Used Carnival once, in the ‘80s, and vowed, “Never again!” The dining room reminded me of dining halls in prison movies.
It seems like a lot of cruise ships are having problems; i.e. tipping over, virus infections etc. etc. If the assertion that the industry is having problems is correct one wonders why.
[ “She was crying ... and she just wants off of the ship,” Nutt said. “I mean, it’s horrible. There’s no running water. There’s no power. They are having to use the restroom in buckets and bags.” “It’s like a bunch of savages on there,” he added. “If you get on the blogs, they’re saying that people are fighting over food and stuff.”]
The current state of mind of people now a days - that being, Everyone owes me right now - I’m first - screw everyone else...
The liberals sure have done a great job mastering the complete overhaul of values that once dominated the US to where a scene like this would never have happened...wait until the financial collapse...it will be like Resident Evil - and it’s not the zombies - but the individual scum bags that will take to the streets...
The hell with gold - storage of food and ammo is the only commodity that will be worth the price of life!
Carnival Cruises are notorious for attracting the worst white trash around. This is also isn’t the first time this has happened.
Yeah, Im sure all news outlets check the donation records of every company involved in every story before they print. They are all in on it right?
Assuming you arent trolling, posts like this make this place seem full of whackos. Stop please.
Trolling....you’re the newbie, since yesterday.
Who is trolling. I’m a monthly donor and have been for a number of years.
I suggest you watch out for the ZOT!
LOL! Your ability to look on the bright side is indeed finely honed...

“Carnival Cruises are notorious for attracting the worst white trash around. This is also isnt the first time this has happened.”
And Carnival isn’ alone! Just ask yourself why you would ever “sail” on a ship that was registered in LIberia or Panama? It’s to get around the cost of US crews and more importantly, US inspections. Personally I wouldn’t take a cruise on any of them. They are accidents waiting to happen! When the $hit hits the fan, they become floating ghettos.
why have they not taken passengers OFF the same way ???

The ‘small print’ in the contract says NO REFUNDS if you remain aboard.
Agreed. Have been on many cruises and the food and conditions just keep getting worse.
The last cruise I contracted norovirus and was in my stateroom for four days straight until it went away. Nothing like paying to get sick!
“Assuming you arent trolling, posts like this make this place seem full of whackos. Stop please.”
You just joined “this place” yesterday and you are telling Freepers to stop? Suggest you are the whacko and you leave this forum and go elsewhere.
I remember some FR threads where this is the typical aftermath of a "gay cruise".
Ozone fills the air...
I am not fond of any place where I have to depend upon someone else for a)personal safety and I can’t personally defend myself b)food and shelter c)and where I can’t simply walk away. I’d be more paranoid than a General worried about the contamination of his precious body fluids.
Thanks for the support....:)
You have been here ONE DAY and you are telling FReepers how to post?
It is you n00bies that make FR look bad.
really?
thought i smelled ozone - nice catch - high fives bro
I imagine the potential liability for at-sea transfers of that number of people would be an unacceptable risk.
Maybe Carnival will give them a discount for a future cruise.
Rather novel that you chose the handle of ‘Comment_Police’ as you’ve embarked on your new career of being a FR moderator.
Naturally, the real moderators know about your self-appointed mission to make FR safe from inappropriate comments?
Looks like comment_police has been suspended
Sounds like Staten Island after hurricane Sandy.
People fighting over food......sewage running down the walls......people acting like savages.....is it Spring Break already?
Before the number of the damn things visiting Hawaii dropped off, you would see miles long streams of brown sludge offshore. I was convinced it was those damn ships dumping sewage.
You're welcome. Can't stand pushy/nasty newbies. When I joined those years ago, I kept my head down until Freepers got to know me. In those days, Freepers would take a newbies head off if you weren't respectful.
I went on one cruise years ago and would NEVER get on another ship. My husband's company, insurance company, filled that ship with company people and high selling insurance agents, to leave Miami and go to Nassau, then to an island the ship owned, then back to Miami. I don't know the name of the ship company.
When the ship had to cross the gulf stream not long after we left shore, the pitching movement caused almost everyone aboard to get nauseated and throw up. We had gone to the dining area when it hit us. We left the dining area to go back to stateroom. On the way to the room, people were throwing up in stationary ash trays, or just on the floor. It was horrible. After we got in room, husband threw up but I just stayed horribly nauseated.
About 7 am next morning, we were still sick, but an announcement came on waking us up, telling us to go to the deck for life saving instruction. Both of us did not go - we thought it was more likely we would faint/fall and kill ourselves than having to go overboard.
We were too sick to eat and ate nothing until we got to Nassau. We were so glad to get off that ship onto ground. We were able to eat breakfast on shore and keep it down. Some of our group left the ship then and took a plane back to the US. We made it back to Miami on the ship without getting sick again - didn't go through that turbulence again. After we were sick, I found out it was the gulf stream that caused that but we were not told that would happen nor were we told they had sea sickness pills they could give us.
Never again will I turn my body over to a freaking ship.
The attorneys are fighting here on shore to be first in line when that ship finally docks in New Orleans...
and praying someone dies or gets sick..
Free cruises for life and part of the stock...
Carnival is about to be pwned...
So the part of the story that says full refund and another free cruise in the future is bogus?
How in the world do you prep for a cruise? Maybe by not going on one?
“Let me tell you something about hew-mons, nephew . . .”
I bet there will be a crowd of lawyers waiting to greet the passengers when they reach port. Not that I would blame them...I would want to bring a huge lawsuit against Carnival if I had to endure that hell on the high seas.
Maritime law is considerably different from American ambulance chaser law.
