There are no Republicans on Capitol Hill.
Just Democrats with bad Mardi Gras masks.

Hagel would have collaborated with the Nazis in Paris during WWII.
To: xzins
did anyone really think he wouldn’t be confirmed?
He’ll probably be confirmed by more than 90 Senators.

This just gets it out of committee. Does not mean he will be confirmed.
To: xzins
The Republicans never had the votes to stop Hagel in committee. Hopefully on the floor, it’s another story.

Thanks very much, dearest xzins!
Watching now.
McCain does not want his nomination to move forward and is stating his many reasons!

So Graham and Inhofe talked tough, got their 5 minutes, and then went with the rest of the eunuchs.
Clearly they are counting on the short memories of Americans, and I like their chances.

What a disaster for our country. An ignorant yes-man who will do the Won’s bidding to disarm us in the face of increasing threats.

What was the vote? The rats have enough seats on the committee to pass on his nomination without any Republican support.

He could nominate a horse and it’d be confirmed
To: xzins
There was never any way to block it in committee.
There’s still at least a chance that it may be blocked in the Senate, although that would be some kind of miracle, as the Republican establishment gets worse and worse every day.

You all gotta remember that even though Hagel was part of the US Senate “Club” he NEVER made ANY real friends there(Think McCain with NO Personality). CHUCKY is gonna have problems on the Seante Floor. Possibly look for CHUCKY to GO DOWN!

Doesn’t matter about competency. They all get the rubber stamp approval unless they are staunch conservatives put through the ringer and back again.

Go ahead, confirm the SOB.
The quicker we abandon Israel, the sooner this “grand experiment” can be over and done with.
Come, Lord Jesus.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious.
But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly.
But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.
For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men.
He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist.
A murderer is less to be feared."
