Bill Bolling swears he hasn't decided whether he'll run for Governor of Virginia, but in a mostly one-sided conversation with WMAL's Mornings On The Mall Thursday, the incumbent Lt. Governor sounded an awful lot like a candidate aiming for middle-of-the-road votes.
"There are a lot of what I'll call more 'mainstream' Republicans like me that are just not real happy with the current leadership and direction of our party," said Bolling. "I think in this particular race in Virginia this year, there's a lot of uneasiness out there with the candidates of both of the major political parties, so that certainly creates an opportunity for a more independent voice, and we're assessing that carefully," he added.
Bolling noted that he is considering three options - remaining in the Republican party, where he could work to reform from within; running for Governor as an independent candidate, or to, in his words "turn the page" and walk away from Virginia politics after 22 years.
When Mornings On The Mall co-host Larry O'Connor pressed Bolling to explain why he didn't just take on Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli directly for the GOP nomination, Bolling said he intended to do that, until party leaders opted to choose the nominee by convention, rather than by primary.
"Unfortunately, our party leadership was essentially overtaken by the Tea Party groups and the Ron Paul folks, and they voted to change the rules in the middle of the campaign," he said. "The party has just been taken over by voices that are not just more conservative, but they are ideologically-driven and are more ideologically rigid," he added.

One in the same.
My point is that use of the term RINO is silly and obfuscatory. Those we term RINOs or Phoney Republicans are, in fact. the real Republicans. That is what Republicans are. Conservatives who try to work within that party are delusional. They cannot reform it. Any future for conservatives lies outside of the Republican Party which needs to be abandoned to disintegrate and the so-called RINOS left to sink into the Democrat Party. A new replacement party will wall off the tremendous amounts of money that the Republicans wield within the Republican party.
Thank you for your words.
I had two choices during the primary. First choice chose not to run. Second choice was knocked out by the lame-stream drive-bys, whereupon I waited and began to study the republican primary process. I did state a few opinions, probably not too popular opinions, during the time of the process. I tried to learn more about the primary setup and determined the primary was setup that had my first choice entered to run there may have been something in that primary setup which would have rigged and I do believe the primary season as is, does look, to be rigged to bring forth a candidate not of a Conservative background at the end of said primary session. I may be wrong, but after studying how the lame-stream drive-bys and the makeup of the current primary process on the republican side is done, am of the opinion the republican primary process should be changed to a one day vote, where all the states vote on one day. It would help our side (imho).
