PIPE BURSTS JUST BEFORE CEREMONY STARTS

(NEWSER) – It was a decidedly unglamorous beginning to the Oscars: About half an hour before the show kicked off tonight, a pipe burst in the women's bathroom at the Dolby Theatre and flooded the lobby. It happened when the mom of one of the nominees flushed a toilet, an embarrassing situation described by another nominee to The Wrap: "The poor woman came out looking like a scene from Carrie. She was drenched."

Most appropriate. Must have been one of those new smart toilets letting the Academy Awards know exactly what they’re worth. ;-) LOL, exactly. Would have been kewl to see a big tidal wave of turds rush right down the center aisle, then wash up onto the stage in the middle of the show.
