(CNN) -- Just like she did during the first half of the school year, first grader Coy Mathis wants to use the girls' restroom at her Colorado elementary school. But school officials won't let her.
The reason? Coy is transgendered, born with male sex organs but a child who identifies herself as female.
She has dressed as a girl for most of last year. And her passport and state-issued identification recognize her as female.
In December, the Fountain-Fort Carson School District informed Coy's parents that Coy would be barred from using the girls' restrooms at Eagleside Elementary in Fountain after winter break.

She could instead use the boys' bathroom, gender-neutral faculty bathrooms or the nurse's bathroom, the district said.

A first grader has no sexual identity and if they want to wear girl’s clothing, it has nothing to do with being identified as a woman or “transgendered.” Anyone, including this kid’s parents, who encourages the kid to identify as a girl and use the girls restroom is guilty of child abuse.
parental brainwashing of a poor boy, this is mental child abuse.
Sooooo...genetically, it is a man.
I am failing to see the problem with him using the male restroom.
This is a little disingenuous. It’s not like this little kid is a transsexual. In the past the sexual orientation of hermaphrodites would start to display early on, and the parents would be encouraged to follow the lead.
This is a horribly sad situation and idiot adults are making it worse. No wonder these kids opt for suicide when they are teens.
Kids with boy parts use the boys bathroom, pretty simple.
The parents have turned this child into an object of ridicule to other kids

Watch as the boy turns 13 and is declared a lesbian....
What 18 month old kid talks or thinks like that? They don’t. The parents did this.

If you support these parents then you must hate their little kid.
I remember hearing the stories years ago about how kids this age would watch “The Adventures of Superman”,then jump out of their second-story bedroom window trying to fly.
I suspect this will lead to similar results.......
At least back then parents didn’t go before a judge and demand “flight-enabling” Superman capes for their kids......

Anyway we could beat up the parents for confusing their child at that age.
I can’t wait until the trend becomes something like asian kids that demand that they were actually born latino!

That is a great point. I've often wondered why these young kids commit suicide so easily. I think it's the "adults" who are causing it. Liberals teach them that the whole world is evil and everyone must be miserable. If you're not miserable, you're not "a nice person".
