Prominent Catholic blogger speculates Pope Benedict is 'secretly gay' (Andrew Sullivan)

A prominent Catholic and gay blogger, Andrew Sullivan, has renewed speculation that the outgoing Pope Benedict may be secretly gay, a report has said.

The Dish's Andrew Sullivan wrote a post titled Two Popes, One Secretary, after it was announced that Benedict will not go into hidden retirement but will instead continue living in the Vatican with trusted secretary Archbishop Georg Gaenswein.

"So Benedict's handsome male companion will continue to live with him, while working for the other Pope during the day," Sullivan wrote.

"Are we supposed to think that's, well, a normal arrangement?" he added

According to the Huff Post, in a past column, Sullivan concluded that it 'seems pretty obvious' that 'the current Pope is a gay man.'

He called him a person who has not 'explored his sexuality, or has violated his own strictures on the matter.'

Sullivan's column is more grist for the Vatican's gay rumour wheel, coming on the heels of a bombshell article in Italian paper La Repubblica, which claimed the pope's resignation was influenced by a damning internal document that reportedly cited powerful lobbying influences in the Vatican, including a gay lobby, the report said.

La Repubblica detailed other points from the alleged dossier, including the claim that a gay underground network organized sexual meetings of members at venues across Rome and Vatican City, it added.

Sullivan has, for years, tried to inculcate into the minds of the American public that homosexuality is a varient of normal. Here, he affirms by his statement of perceived incedulity that, "...are we supposed to think that's, a normal arrangement". He convicts himself.

He seems to have the Pope confused with Liberace.

LOL! Prominent Catholic blogger? I think not. He may be prominent, and he may be a blogger, but a SERIOUS practicing Catholic he’s not, no matter what he calls himself.

Referring to Andrew Sullivan as Catholic (he is on paper but not in reality) and conservative (he claims to be) is like referring to Michael Jackson as Black (he is on paper but not in reality) and heterosexual (he claims to be).

Yes, so what.

I have some nice acquaintances that are homosexuals, and they’re decent people. I value their friendship and they don’t wear their sexuality on their sleeve, if you catch my drift.

Andrew Sullivan is Catholic? Oh my

What did he contribute to the Church last year? How did he observe Church law? How often did he attend Mass and take communion?

Enquiring minds.....

“Prominent,” now that’s a laugh. Hey Andy, tell us again how Trig Palin isn’t Sarah’s child.

He desperately wants God’s approval for the thoughts he has and deeds he does with other men. Failing that, he wants the world to rise up in support of him and declare that God either does not exist or is misunderstood by the church as it currently exists, which church, of course, must be set right on its antiquated and mistaken preconceptions.

Very accurate! They're not content to simply live their lives like anybody else. Instead, they desperately require the approval of society, psychology, religion and law, because they know that "gay" is wrong and they feel that somehow forcing everybody else to approve of it will make it okay. But they can't force people to do this, and that's why they're enraged.

(Art.) ....powerful lobbying influences in the Vatican, including a gay lobby....

Well! Time to crank up the Inquisition, and have them fire up the Pendulum in old Toledo.

Edgar Allan Poe would be pleased.

All the encyclicals well into the 1960’s strongly admonished Marxism/Communism and explained it so people understood the philosophy. (it ended with the infiltration that Bella Dodd writes about in her book).

Vatican II was the withdrawal of the Catholic Church from the culture war. (They were infiltrated like the Marxists always do.) In the 50’s, Bishop Sheen was on TV and more popular than Milton Berle. The Catholic Church was surging and by the 60’s we elected our first Catholic President——then the Marxist homomafia came to power in the 60’s, probably killed Kennedy, and destroyed the traditions in the Church and became “tolerant” of sin and illegal activity. Fr. Oko writes about homomafia in his homoheresy article. Google it. It is great.

Anyhow, they were the loudest “group” who constantly preached about the EVIL of Marxist ideology—educating the people-—saying it was the ideology where the people are used like a”means to an end”. (unethical in Christian ideology which can never use human beings in that evil way). :Social Justice” was the new drive after the takeover-—a socialism-—they ejected the idea of subsidiarity and backed off the homosexual agenda. Millions of dollars of Catholic donations funded abortion and pro-homosexual groups all through the last 50 years.

Anyhow....no one bashed Communism more than the Catholic Church-—it is why they targeted the Church to subvert it -—in South America and Mexico the Marxists turned Catholicism into Liberation Theology which is just Marxist churches-—an oxymoron.

The Catholic Church was the best.....when they pursued the Truth, there was no better Theology. They condemned sin with no apologies.

What a crock, the most anti-communist force on earth was Protestant America.

In fact, in America the Catholics have always pushed America towards socialism and liberalism.

I don’t agree. Protestants were anti-hierarchical which is closer to Communism. They also stated “all men are created equal”-—which is definitely NOT true. “Democracy” is the step toward Socialism which is what Tocqueville noted just 20 years after this country was founded-—said it was a matter of time before the collapse into socialism (which was true).

Order-—like in corporations and the family unit—demand hierarchy to work efficiently. Catholics knew this. Protestants set up socialistic colonies at first-—they learned—yes—but they were always more likely to fall for Communist calls for “equality” where they eject Natural Laws-—Catholics can’t.

Catholics were seeped in subsidiarity—it is in their Canon Law. It is incompatible with “collectives” and dissolving the family unity and not denying anyone—even the unborn-— individual dignity and worth. Contraception became ok for Protestants in 1930. They gave in to the godless atheists noted by Pastor Bonhoeffer while visiting churches in America in 1931—”Religionless”.

Catholics didn’t give up until decades later—although they were infiltrated and “social Justice” Marxists got in the hierarchy as Bella Dodd stated.

Their ideas were stated clearly and they had a far better system of education for elementary grades, which they did a really good job with—to increase and grow their numbers and influence——until the 60’s-—when they were infiltrated.

The wealth and power of the Catholic Church was far greater than any Protestant “group”. I am not saying America wasn’t powerful-—but it wasn’t until 1917 that the Communists got organized and by that time Catholics were starting to surge and became the dominate majority by 1960, so they could even elect JFK. Catholic families were much larger than Protestant ones and most later immigrants to this country were Catholic .

It was the Catholic vote that killed us in this last election-—because our Bishops and Cardinals-—have been corrupted and don’t teach Truth and the Catholic Canon anymore. (They went the way of our Public Schools and too many Protestants.) True-—since the 70’s the Evangelicals have been at the forefront—but only because the Catholic Church was being taken down from within by the Homomafia as Fr. Oko has written. 75% of Catholics left the faith after Vatican II and the scandals.

The United States was the force that saved the world from Communist domination, and many of us died and sacrificed in that struggle.

All the while Catholics in our nation were promoting socialism and unionism and the democrat party.

You may want to look into the Cold War sometime, the Berlin Airlift, NATO, Korea, Vietnam, and drop your anti-Americanism.

Why is that person allowed to call themselves “Catholic”?

Same rules make David Gergen "Conservative" for CNN purposes.
