After playing with cap guns, at Christmas of my 10th year I received a .22 caliber Winchester rifle. At 10 I knew the difference between toy guns and real ones even though there was no orange plug on the barrels of the realistic cap guns.
Most of us kids would take our firearms down to the dump and shoot trash, competing against ourselves for accuracy.
None of us or any of the other gun people I've known through the years has ever intended to kill nor have they shot a single human. And very few of us have ever gone hunting or killed an animal.
Two of the reasons we have guns, excluding the 2nd Amendment, is for plinking or target shooting down at the gun club, and collecting weapons for historic or investment purposes.
The firearms owners I know report that we recreational shooters are far more accurate than police, saying that police don't practice much. Some don't even practice for their re-qualifying tests.
The vast majority of us are recreational shooters. The few with good eyesight and big bucks compete in target acquisition.
Banning guns or more laws are only for populace control and manipulation.
I second the nomination.
Probably has a biden double barrel shotgun by the door.
Guns for me but not for thee.
Rather than musket to musket, as our forefathers had at their disposal as they courageously dared throwing off the shackles of tyranny, what would the outcome have been had these brave men been limited to a soda straw and peas for ammo?
This comparison, musket to musket versus soda straws is where we find ourselves today.
With the many restrictions, WE as a people, have allowed our government to shackle us with over the years regarding our rights, i.e. limits to what we may own or possess in armaments, any balance has been eroded to such a degree, our masters may now do as they wish without fear of the people they rule.
The real and actual purpose of the 2nd Amendment has been degraded to the point that, today it is virtually worthless as a concept. How dare we, as citizens, demand the right to be allowed the same tools of defense that our masters may have.
Incrementally and through a persistent chipping away at our rights, any thoughts today of confronting the rulers muskets armed only with our straws, is nothing more than wishful dreaming. Game, set, match; they have us where they want us. Be afraid, very afraid.
The Police are not even required to TRY to protect you.
Executive Summary: Gun owners are afraid of everything—crime and the government. The problem is, therefore, messaging. The government gets a bad rap as being and expensive, inefficient failure that cannot protect its citizens. So . . . the government must launch a new PR campaign to assure gun owners it will not become a tyranny and it will prevent crime.
LOL.
I think you meant “deficit”.
An “imbalance” could also mean having too much.
The Gun Culture is changing. Liberals have succeeded in getting more people to buy guns for the express purpose of defending themselves against the government, looters, and takers.
What would 'Davros' here say is a rational response to fear?
I say, courage.
Which is defined not as the absence of fear but proceeding towards danger in spite of fear. So...being all courageous and all rational-like, would a person possessing these qualities make one more small rational decision and take a firearm with them? I think so.
I think that pretty well deflates this asshat's argument.
Same folks who think our free speech culture, religious freedom culture, and property rights culture must also change.
In response, we can only state, “No. You, will have to kill us first. And if you send proxies to do it for you, we will come for you.”
Gun was not registered to him, but an FBI agent. I am sure the FBI agent lost his job over that incident.
Wonder why no ambulance chaser ever filed suit against Karl for his unlawful possession of a firearm that resulted in damages to their client?
Just askin :)
Government must be constantly controlled and limited, like noxious weeds and venomous reptiles.
I refuse to comply.
More great things in obamakare. And this law is so bad that the e-pubs talk about it every day!
/sarc.
Really hate that my perception of reality is as depressing as it sounds. As far as your refusing to comply, a tip of the hate to you my friend.
By the way, that order I had placed for that drone, the tank, the grenades, automatic weapons and missles for defense of my home and fellow countrymen hasn’t shown up yet. Surely they (masters) would not deny me. They can’t do that. They just can’t. Can they? s/
a tip of the hat my friend
not hate, my appologies
The more I see and read the more p!$$3d off I get. And as I get more PO'ed, any semblance of fear washes away.
Recall Yamato's words after Pearl;
"I fear all we have done is awaken a sleeping giant and filled him with a terrible resolve."
Well, We The People is the giant and this current regime keeps poking the giant with a stick.
I am resolved to not comply with unconstitutional orders and will make some poor sonofabitch who tries to disarm me see the folly of his choice to fire on US citizens. Sure the DHS probably just put me in a red watch file but screw 'em. I'm getting a might steamed and will only put up with so much. I may be an old fool but when push comes to shove, someone will be made to know the fu¢*3* the wrong dog.
If the Admin Mods think that is a violent post then they can wipe it and me off the board. I don't care.
That’d be Yamamato. Not Yamato. That’s a ship. Duh.
Whatever you do, don’t hold yourself out as a `sovereign citizen’:
http://www.activistpost.com/2013/01/are-you-sovereign-citizen.html
“The federal government was quick to seize on this opportunity and bootstrap the term to any group that the federal government feels would oppose any of its policies. In short, if you do not like some aspect of government, you are now one the new domestic terrorists and should be subject to governmental control outside the bounds of constitutional protections.”
Recall that the `Dept. of Homeland Security’ has targeted “violent sovereign citizens.” That’s unfortunate in that most of us here are not violent, but fall within that definition in part.
