In Hitler’s Germany that is exactly what happened. Today a person is a cook or teacher and tomorrow they wear a black uniform with lethal authority.

As so many have said (including FReepers right here on FR) there is nothing to these purchases they are just normal training expenditures and only people who wear ‘tinfoil hats’ would worry about them. (SARC)

Let's turn these numbers around for a moment. It's assumed there are at least 80 million gun owners in America (probably more, now). What's 1.6 billion divided by 80 million? It's only 20. The feds have bought 20 rounds for each gun owner out there. If even 20% of the gun owners out there were looking for 100 rounds of ammo each, they'd drop the stocks by what the fed has done. That simply doesn't explain the current shortage away. I think the real cause of the shortage is gun owners (and non-owners who see a quick cash-making opportunity) who are likely buying up what they can, when they can.

I think we’re gonna find out how the indians felt way back when.

I think Bambi's goons are going to find out what Custer felt way back when.

They will first come for your guns and ultimately implement Agenda 21 if they are successful. You will have to decide what do to then.

You can wait till they come to your door or cut them off at the pass.

Americans have been known to buy 1 billion rounds in a single month.

Nah, just a bloke who's tired of libs and rhinos selling us out for their 30 pieces of silver. I just like looking at things from different angles.

I also have more rounds per federal agent, than they have per gun owner. ;-P

Well, okay, that would be wrong. That would be 20 x 120,000, which would be a 2.4 million. I have more rounds for them, than they do me, is what I meant.

Did IQ points suddenly sharply drop? Can no one identify any precedents in human history for what is coming to the U.S.? Do you think those in power NEED Americans to supply them when this next war starts? Is the U.S. living in a vacuum? Wow! Just Wow!

Don't get me wrong, Kart. I don't think the fedzilla should have priority with ammo purchases, nor do I think every Fed Dick out there needs to have 13,300+ rounds at their disposal (approximately 120,000 armed federal agents divided into 1.6 billion), I just think we gun-owners, as a whole, have them outmatched with respect to ammo purchases.

I bought 1,000 rounds of .223 bulk at Sportsman's Warehouse in December, after Newtown. The poor workers weren't even able to get the ammo to the shelves. Folks were pulling boxes off their carts as they came out.

There were at least 50 boxes of 1,000 rounds each of .223 sold that day alone.

There are stories every week about folks lining up there as early as 2:00 AM to get their hands on whatever came in for the week. If they got 50 boxes a week, that's 50,000 rounds for that one store each week in just bulk .223, let alone anything else they got. That's 200,000 rounds in a month for one store of just .223 bulk, let alone the match/target grade stuff I won't even look at. Gunshows are selling out in numbers never before seen, guns are flying off the shelves. I can't find AR parts most places I look. 10/22 mags? Good luck.

Just hadn’t had my coffee yet! ;-)

But it’s amazing how many FReepers could end up standing in line behind barbed wire and never know how it happen, because they were to busy making excusses instead of paying attention.

That is a whole lot of ammo to guard. How many people are we paying to protect their ammo?

You forgot to add, "watching those 'tanks' that DHS didn't buy."

Obviously your IQ dropped just making that dump remark.

Your ignorance of logistics is typical of someone making the comments that you do

I always like to ask if you was to go back to say 1928-9 and address a group of leading German Jewish professionals about what was going to happen to them and their people within the next ten years, what do you think their reaction would be?

I say it would be a lot like yours.

Yeah. I'm paying attention, but anymore it's like playing whack-a-mole with both hands tied behind my back, as every day it's 20 new things they are doing to keep up mis-informed and disoriented.

“I think it’s very simple-—if they can’t take our guns, they can take our ammo.....nobody saw this coming before it was too late.”

After the ammo became scarce, I managed to find three boxes of 50- 22lr hollow points at CheaperThanDirt, and I check every day on the web, checked yesterday and no 22lr hollow points anywhere. I got 38 special hollow points and high powered cartridges for a Remington rifle and two kinds for a Remington shotgun before ammo got scarce.

About the 22 lr hollow points: I don't think the government bought those, I think it's regular folks stocking up that did in the 22 lr hollow points.

YESTERDAY, I got an email from the Ruger company that the Ruger 25 magazine for my Ruger rifle was sent. I put that order in January 23. I have a Hot Lips plastic one and even those can't be found now. I see a price of $100 on private auctions for that Hot Lips one.

Yeah, sure. Whatever. I’m sure that logistics were all important in China, Russia (USSR), Germany, Italy, Korea, Vietnam, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc in keeping despots from overrunning all those countries. It is so comforting to know that there has never ever ever been a government that has oppressed the people within a nation BECAUSE of logistics and whatever else you believe keeps people safe from tyranny.

And more good news from that front.

Second Amendment Sisters is holding a “Ladies Learn to Shoot” class near Austin TX soon, and we’ve been having a heck of a time locating enough ammo for the event. We are especially low on 9mm’s.

This morning I located some about 35 miles down the road for me. Price: $29.99/box.

They are reserving 3 100 count boxes for us, to be picked up tomorrow.

It's just crazy on the ammo market. Haven't made my on line search today. I have any company that sells ammo on a favorites list and I click down it every day looking for 22 lr HP. I would imagine 9 mm. is next to impossible to find. I don't have a 9 mm, too hard for me to pull back the slide.
