Report: Israel to Seek US Attack on Syria, or Freedom to Do So
Arutz Sheva ^ | 18/3/13 | David Lev

Syria promises to loom large in discussions between Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Barack H. Obama when the latter visits Israel this week. And according to the Guardian newspaper in Britain, those discussions will entail an Israeli request for the U.S. to take military action against Syria.

Israeli sources do not expect Obama to agree to the Israeli request – but the objective is not necessarily to get Obama to commit American troops to yet another imbroglio in the Middle East, but to convince him to approve an attack by Israel if Bashar al-Assad tries to transfer chemical weapons to Lebanon. The report quoted a senior Israeli source as saying that Israel preferred to take care of the problem without American intervention. “Maybe it would be better if Israel did not attack, but who else should do this,” asked the source rhetorically. “These missiles are a threat not only to to Israel,” but also to the U.S., which has the largest fleet in the Mediterranean. Obama has said that the U.S. would intervene in Syria if Assad used chemical weapons or tried then to terror groups. But Israeli sources told the Guardian that they felt that Obama would not come through at the moment of truth, and that Israel would be left to deal with the problem by itself. The sources said that they did not expect Obama to agree to commit to a Syrian attack, but they did hope to garner the President's support for an Israeli attack...

Get the attack finished and done with before the Administration even knows what's happening. If it's successful, the UN will loudly condemn it and the US will say something non-committal about Israel's right to defend itself. If it's unsuccessful, the Administration will loudly condemn it and throw Israel to the wolves. But don't discuss it beforehand with anyone in this Administration, except to feed them disinformation.

Israel shouldn’t allow a foul fly-infested unclean spirit to dictate their security moves,

this ‘visit’ to Israel is very dangerous to all of us,

Every day I get closer to hoping Israel makes a really good deal for tech etc with Putin. One that he KNOWS is too good to ever renig on.

And then tell America to pound salt. Hell of a thing to say about my own country and until lately, I never would have. But there it is.

I don't know why the Israeli Prime Minister would even bother talking to the juvenile, muslim POTUS.

He should just do what he has to do (and will do that anyway).

I'm sure he knows that and maybe he's just putting POTUS on notice.

Here I go again, bringing GRRM into it. But Lord Stark put Queen Cersei on notice. That sure turned out great for Lord Stark—not.

I can't believe they give a rat's ass what Obama thinks. There is no reason Israel needs our go ahead to prevent transfer of chemical weapons to to Lebanon.

And if Hizbullah has chemical-tipped missiles and Obama says no, we would simply sit on our hands and be murdered? Riiiight.

Any information shared with the Hussein admin will wind up on the front page of the NYT and CNN, essentially letting the paper and Wolf Blitzer do Obama’s dirty work for him.

I think this story is disinformation, BiBi would not put Husseins blessing above the Magan David..

Al Qaeda will take over Israel, the Hezbollah forces of Assad will lose

Syria is THE KING OF THE NORTH written about in Daniel, so, the destruction of Damascus will not take place until around the mid tribulation when anti-Christ’s military sweeps in to Israel to defend Israel against the Egyptian/Syrian/Libyan/Persian assault

Israel should blast Iran off the map and pages of history while Zero's dining with the beauty queen. This story though is ultimately from the Guardian, and is probably a steaming fetid pile.

As the old saying goes, sure the game is crooked, but it’s the only game in town. The US has been training the Free Syrian Army in Jordan (and WTH took so long?), and there is (or may be) contingencies floating about regarding using drones to snuff the Islamofascist elements of the uprising (and ultimately, Assad et al). This is a different approach than the WoT in Iraq, where Saddam’s armed forces weren’t recruited and reeducated, and instead wound up in the terrorism biz. I think I noticed news of another bombing in Iraq, so it’s still going on.
