Coming from your Colorado shipwreck, TTC is zero.

By the way, where did that nasty ol TransTexas Corridor go to? Its been hiding mighty well.

As far as this and many other Texans go, Perry has been doing damn good for Texas. USA’s loss is our gain.

Too many people, some right here, figure since they, themselves are not running, no one is good enough.I’d have been quite pleased with our governor being President, although he is good where he’s at.

It wasn’t the platform, it was the man. You need both.

If Perry wasn’t a muslim-lover he might have been a contender.

“He was all about God, guns, country and jobs. I loved him.”

Agreed. People that keep dissing Rick Perry need to take a close look at the Texas economy as compared to most other states.

In my personal opinion, you have more positioning that most to express how you feel about the topic.... Good going, thank you for the patience, and good luck :)

Hang in there :D

So a groveling panderer in TX of all places can’t even break out of the 30’s with them—and it is somehow good that we’re giving the vote to tens of millions more of them?

Perry is a states rights, 10th amendment guy.

Perry is very socially conservative. Very!

Perry is very pro-business and pro-entrepreneur.

Low tax, low regulation etc.

I agree he was ahead of his time, but I disagree that what the DC, GOP E, is doing is somehow tied to Rick Perry, or that he is tied to it.

He has NOT pushed that we should be soft on illegal immigration. He has pushed for securing the border and for shutting up about the illegal immigration issue plans and schemes UNTIL THE BORDER IS SECURE. The GOP E is doing the exact opposite.

Somebody got the wrong idea that because he was identified with in-state tuition for the CHILDREN who were brought to TX by illegally-entering adults (and here, the TX legislature was the overwhelming key to that, not Perry, but he concurred with their overwhelming vote), that somehow he was for any and all illegal normalizing schemes. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

He is for a secure border policy. That he knows it can and should be done without building a complete border fence between TX and Mexico (idea a total CROCK, actually unworkable) has been wrongly used to paint him as against a secure border.

What Rick Perry is, is MISCHARACTERIZED by BOTH SIDES.

And the debate debacle because of his back surgery and pain meds sealed his candidacy fate.

It’s no more complicated than that.

But his actual record, and his actual issue positions when questioned, will continue to be used to destroy him, by both political sides, I sadly predict.

That’s the problem.

It’s not that the GOP E now lines up with him, but late in the game.

They didn’t then, they don’t now.

Go ahead, somebody bring up that he backed Dewhurst. So, if you were a governor, I suppose YOU would endorse the unknown opponent of your Lt. Governor in a U.S. Senate Primary run, eh?

Sure you would. /sarcasm

He personally picked Dewhurst. He positionally lines up with Ted Cruz. All but the blinded can see that.

Rick Perry is no conservative

Signing bills that gave Illegal Aliens in-state tuition.....the Trans Texas Corridor and North American Union nonsense....the forced STD/HPV vaccinations of young girls....wimping out on banning TSA groping.

Perry is no conservative

If Perry had had the overwhelming support of the media he would be president now anyway. Whatever he may have done in the debates Obama has done worse. Where would Obama be if the media went all out to destroy him the way they do any Republican who seems remotely capable of winning? Never mind, I’ll answer it myself, he would be totally unknown, he would never have been a candidate even for county clerk, let alone anything else.

You must know something I don’t if you went through all that to become a citizen of this country which is headed to hell in a rocket powered handbasket. I was blessed to be born in this country in 1944 and cursed to be able to see the way it has been headed since I was in my teens. I have driven away many a friend by trying to tell them what was happening, they thought I was crazy but now it is all too clear what is going on. I feel as though I am in a different world than the one into which I was born.
