Rand Paul: American's wont pick crops for $8/hour when they can sit at home and get welfare

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., who has emerged as the key advocate for secure borders, keeping to the rules and an organized handling of the millions of illegal aliens now inside the United States says there is a clear goal that Americans should have for the newcomers: Make them taxpayers.

“What I’m saying is let’s get them work visas, normalize them, tax them, make them taxpayers,” the senator said in an exclusive interview with WND reporter Taylor Rose.

...

“You can’t have open borders and be a welfare state,” he warned. The solution is a secure border – and a process where someone on a work visa doesn’t get welfare, or someone with a green card doesn’t get welfare.

Paul said there are glitches, too, in America’s social services. There shouldn’t be 60,000 new people on the roles of the disabled every month, he said. In other words, America’s safety net sometimes is just too generous.

The reasons some Americans won’t work for the $8 per hour for an agricultural field worker, for example, is that they would rather do nothing and collect higher government benefits, he said.

That’s how you win votes, by pandering.

Do you think you’re going to win their votes by telling them to self-deport? How did that work out for President Romney?

They won’t self-deport. They’re here and they’re staying so figure out what you’re going to do with them

RE :”You’re offering to break up their families, put them in concentration camps and send them back home”

You are too much.

What I have posted here over and over is DONT GIVE THEM THE VOTE, that's what I keep posting here, and you keep saying that's the same as rounding them up and putting them in concentration camps.

Now you are making me laugh bro

No, but he doesn’t have to stoop to Bush-level rhetoric either.

He’s not going to give them the vote. There is no special path. They have the ability to apply like anyone else.

America has always worked that way. Always. Throughout history.

Did your grandparents apply from Europe to be citizens or did they turn up ILLEGALLY and then apply?

You are what is wrong with the GOP today.

With that one sentiment you just posted, you presented the GOP-E approach to everything and the reason why we lost the election in 2008 and 2012.

Reagan didn't win by Pandering, he won by standing on principle, by communicating principle, not wavering and Pandering.

We won in 2010 because the Tea-Party inspired conservatives demanded principled conservatives and turned out for the politicians.

Romney is the Poster-Boy for Pandering. He has a different position on every issue depending on the audience he is in front of. He is famous for it.

In January of 2012 he was a "Severe" conservative and had always been pro-life.

By August of 2012 he was for Abortion (again) in cases of Rape, Incest, Life and HEALTH of the mother.

He had also, by that time, come out in favor of gays in the military, gays in the boy scouts and gay adoption.

Take your "Pandering" crap and head over to DU.

They like cowards like you over there.

You're their kind of Republican, not FreeRepublic's.

He never lost on abortion.

He got 25% of the hispanic vote because he told their families and friends to “self-deport”.

WRONG!!

In states where existing immigration laws have been followed and where sanctuary cities have ceased, they -- SELF DEPORT!! Some went to states that have sanctuary cities &/or provide freebie/benies -- aka "incentives", others went back to their HOME COUNTRIES!!

How to fix the problem? Easy. Take away the incentives - free education, free welfare and healthcare - and they GO HOME.

One thing is certain...if they're given amnesty, they will NEVER vote Republican.

Amnesty = Dim Voters.

Like hell they are.

You take away the tax-payer funded subsidization and take away the ability to find a job here and they will run back across the border.

You quit making it warm and fuzzy to be an illegal here, and there no need to round them up, they'll go back to wherever they came from.

“American’s wont pick crops for $8/hour when they can sit at home and get welfare”

In California illegals won’t work for less than $12/hr cash plus Davis signed a law that illegals get welfare as soon as they arrive.

Where’s the evidence? They’re not going home if they have friends and families and have been here for decades which a lot of them have been. This is a complete fantasy.

Maybe some of the newer ones will go home if there’s no work but a lot of them have been here for a long time.

Right but a lot of people came from Europe, all throughout history.

They weren’t sitting at home in Europe filling out citizenship applications to the State dept. like how some of you think the people in Mexico City should do. No, they came to America and then got citizenship.

He never lost on abortion.

Provide the empirical data that proves that.

Every POTUS election year a large percentage of legal voters do not vote.

Conservatives, Liberals, and Moderates.

No one, and I mean no one was excited by Romney. Exactly because of his lack of principle and lack of conservatism.

There was no excitement, so there was no real GOTV.

If he was actually a conservative, the base would have been fired up and would have actually walked over broken glass to convince everyone they knew that he was the real deal.

They didn't. They had to be dragged and brow-beat with the "fear" of Obama.

Quit lying to yourself.

I think he would have won if he didn’t talk about self-deporting the friends and families of hispanics and the 47% of takers. Huge blunders that cost him.

If you had been paying attention during the time that AZ, GA, and other states were passing laws at the state level, you would have seen the articles posted here on FreeRepublic about the Illegals vacating the states and towns that were implementing tough policies on Illegals.

Your point about this being a complete fantasy doesn't jive with the facts.

Furthermore, if the same policies that have been proven to work at both the city and state level were actually implemented AND ENFORCED at the federal level the results would be the same.

But Rand Paul would rather pander to bunch of illegals who expect the Government to take care of them.

Illegals who will use that same desire for the Government to take care of them to choose their political party, you know, the one that will promise them the most free stuff.

Amnesty is a GOP party killer, and by extension, will end this grand experiment we call a representative democracy, because there will be no one to stop the Democrats in their headlong race to communism.

Rand Paul's Amnesty will give the Democrats an unbeatable electoral advantage.

Game Over!

Nope.

He was never going to win.

You don't ever win (as a Republican) by being risk-adverse and tailoring your principles to win the largest amount of votes.

The base does not respect that kind of coward.

If they applied for citizenship they wouldn’t get the vote for 15 years and they wouldn’t all be Democrats if the GOP actually went to speak with them and welcomed them instead of talking about self-deportation.

You have a serious lack of faith in selling the conservative message. I do not. Most working people will see for themselves especially if they’ve been in the USA for a while that the Democrat policies are destructive.

An addendum—one definition of “argument” is: ‘reasoned discussion tempered by doubt.’
You probably won’t get that at the DUmp, but you will here. Carry on noobian prince!
