Rush Limbaugh: Same-sex marriage will be legal nationwide

Rush Limbaugh: Same-sex marriage will be legal nationwide By Chris Moody, Yahoo! News | The Ticket – 57 mins ago

On his radio program on Wednesday, conservative host Rush Limbaugh predicted that same-sex marriage would eventually be made legal "nationwide," regardless of how the Supreme Court rules in cases on the subject later this year.

From the show transcript:

A lot of people have no personal animus against gay people at all. It's instead, you know, a genuine, I don't know, love/respect for the things they believe define this country as great. They get up every day and they see all this stuff under attack. They see it all under assault. And I think they're just worried about the survivability of the country. And to which the opponents say, "Well, the country's changing and you better get with it and understand it because this genie's not getting put back in the bottle." And I think that's right. I don't care what this court does with this particular ruling, Proposition 8. I think the inertia is clearly moving in the direction that there is going to be gay marriage at some point nationwide.

Shifting public opinion on legalized same-sex marriage would pose significant problems for the Republican Party, which relies heavily on a large voting base of social conservatives who could abandon the GOP if the party abandons its opposition. The official platform of the Republican Party still calls for a constitutional amendment that would restrict marriage to one man and one woman.

Limbaugh, who's unsure of what would happen to the party if it changes its position, also said:

Again... the state actually fought the will of the people. That’s why this whole thing is with the SCOTUS. If California and the 9th Circus actually listened to the People, this whole matter would be moot.

The moment this deviancy is forced nationwide is the moment I no longer care about the survival of the country. Better to have a portion just break away, like a Republic of Texas, and let the marxist sewer that America has become just burn.

No, they will start showing up at churches and demand the church marry them.If they don’t get their way, the churches will be threatened and taken to court.

There is no religious liberty in the US.

In fact. there is no liberty at all in the US anymore.

“We started down this long and weary road in 1970, when Ronald Reagan signed no fault divorce into law in California”

I pointed this out a couple years back and some asshat on here threatened me for saying that - which is the truth BTW.

And for the record, I’m a Ronald Reagan fanatic.

One of the arguments before the court is whether or not a person can be "married" and "not married", at the same time. Not married in a state, but married for purposes of federal law.

See The Chief Justice's Excellent Hypothetical by Randy Barnett, at Volokh Conspiracy.

It gets to the same conclusion you do.

So when the fags finally get marriage will they finally shut the f### up?

No, they will push for any church or institution that does not perform Homo-Hitches to lose their tax exempt status and that any person, clergy, justice of the peace, ship's captain, etc. who refuses to perform said hitching be charged with a criminal offense and/or liable for a lawsuit as some wedding chapels, innkeepers, caterers and bakers have already been sued.

Our Founders are pissed.

Our Founding Fathers would have thought of gay marriage as an abomination.

Very interesting discussion on radio yesterday. Seems there are some 50 odd countries where polygamy is legal. But, if you are a polygamist you can't immigrate here. If DOMA is struck down, it opens the door to allow polygamy state by state.

Going to be a lot more fraud & deception in this country. Those blindly thinking, What the heck, are going to find that they will have no idea who they are marrying.

“How long before I can marry my wife’s sister and her daughter?”

Probably now. Didn’t Woody Allen marry his step daughter?

If the Republican Party supports homosexual marriages, social-issue conservatives will abandon the Republican Party by the millions. Hey, RINO’s: try to win a national election without us.

That's what Rush spoke of yesterday. Guess what he said: we'll need a couple million voters from somewhere else to replace you.

I am betting that the plan is crush DOMA claiming it is a state issue, which they think will appease conservatives. Later states will continue to legalize it and the argument will turn to forcing all states to recognize the same.e-sex marriages performed in states where it is legal. The left will find d a case, probable involving health insurance or some other employment benefit, and then claim all states must recognize same-sex marriage under the interstate-commerce ruse.

IMHO: the RINOs lost the “hold your nose & vote” contingent this past election ... no matter how bad Obummer was, folks still sat home and didn’t vote. The RINOs, who pretty much crammed Romney down everyone’s throat, couldn’t manage to drag him across the finish line in first. Yes, I know there were other factors like voter fraud, but that isn’t going to change - unless the GOP can convince everyone ‘on their side’ to vote, they are through winning elections. With this latest by Reince Priebus (”let’s not go Old Testament”), the done-with-the-GOPEs & not-voting-any-more-if-I-have-to-my-nose contingent is getting larger, not smaller.

No, they will not. Their next screaming will be for all the benefits other married couples receive. You must keep in mind that this issue is not a out marriage or homosexual rights. It is a out furthering the socialist agenda and the increasing power of the state that is the muscle and bones of the ideology.
