President Obama can't see how Congress could buck public opinion to vote against new gun laws, he said in an interview released Tuesday.
“The notion that Congress would defy the overwhelming instinct of the American people after what we saw happen in Newtown I think is unimaginable,” he told "Today" show host Savannah Guthrie in an interview conducted before Monday's explosions at the Boston Marathon.
The Senate is expected to vote on gun legislation later this week, though it's not yet clear whether there will be enough votes for it to pass. Obama has been calling lawmakers to try to convince them to vote in favor of tougher gun laws, The Associated Press reported late Monday.
In the budget released last week, Obama said he offered Republicans a “realistic compromise."
“It does not give Republicans everything they want. Frankly, it doesn't reflect everything that I would like to see,” he said. “What it does is it puts forward some of the ideas that Republicans had suggested around entitlement reform that I think are reasonable policy.”

What’s ‘Unimaginable’ is that after we had Obama in action for 4 years, our own party threw the election so we could get stuck with Obama for another 4 years.

If Congress were responsive to the "overwhelming instinct of the American people" it would be hastily repealing gun laws.
Unfathomable the One would claim consensus and ownership of this issue.
The ‘overwhelming instinct’ of Americans knows WHY the government was to registers everyone’s guns; To confiscate them.
In other words, He finds it objectionable that Congress seems unwilling to go along with his Treasonous Acts.

well, Mr. President, first of all, Congress better vote against the people if what the people want is unconstitutional... secondly, there is not an overwhelming sentiment for gun control... thirdly, you didn’t have this attitude of Congress going against the will of the people when you pushed Obamacare... you simply do not know what it is to be an American... you do not get it...
He seems to be pretty upset at the founders who put some circuit breakers in place to keep fools like this from getting their way 100% of the time.
You have to also keep in mind that confiscation isn’t the “holy grail” for them.
It’s what they can/want to do AFTER confiscation that we should be rubbing their nose in.
