Video can be easily enhanced with the right software..
People making confident assertions about the ethnicity of the white baseball cap guy, in particular, is one of the silliest things I've ever seen here...it's as bad as the "I can see evil in people's eyes" nonsense, when they are looking at people they already know are mass murderers.
Of course it's driven largely by hope, of course.

in a world where even throw away phone had HD quality cameras built into them for free it makes no sense.
