MIT issued an emergency alert at 10:48 on Thursday night reporting shots fired on the university campus. The school newspaper reports, "Shots fired near 32 Vassar St (Stata Center), police officer down. Please stay inside." That report is backed up by CBS News's Bonney Kapp who reports hearing "officer down" on the police scanner just before the MIT alert went out. For now, details are scarce, but the suspect is on the loose and considered armed and extremely dangerous.

Fifteen officers treated for injuries last night.
Hubby and I were in Minneapolis, MN last July... I thought we were in a foreign country, a Muslim country. I've never seen so many women in full-body burkas (only their eyes were uncovered) inside the US in my life.
It was absolutely chilling... they were everywhere except for the two Minnesota Twins games we attended at Target Field. (Appeared to be an "all-American" crowd at the ballgames)
All we kept thinking was: WTF?
And all of these burka-clad women were pushing baby carriages, by the way...
I’ve got to take an extended break for awhile... please keep me posted if something “breaks”...

Sounds like they are going to open the city back up and the trail of perp has gone cold to me. Any thoughts? Or he has been captured alive and they don’t want anyone knowing yet.
