It’s an odd comment to come out with.

The GOP should be pro-Islamic.

Don’t let the Dems own that voting block like they do with the blacks, jews and hispanics.

How will we ever win again?

90% of Muslims voted for Bush in 2000.

Condemn terrorism of course and the incompetence of the Federal agencies but there’s nothing wrong with being pro-Islamic.

The GOP should perhaps try it and maybe we’ll win again.

Newt along with other people from our conservative way of thinking believed G-Warm was real. He said he was wrong after more studies were presented. He said he didn’t know honestly as an expert to what impact it had or not, he said once when ask that he did not want to claim it was unreal until he knew more.

When did he say this? Before or after his 2007 love-in with Kerry?

The immigration thing will have to be addressed, like social security. As soon as a person gets in the middle, they focus on the illegals who are here which is a two way sword. Too bad, they don’t focus on border enforcement first before anything. If they just said they would begin prosecuting people who are here illegally, not working at all, drawing benefits illegally, get those first.

LOL. I suggest you get better informed on the immigration issue. What you said above is gibberish.

Newt is late to the “awakening” party.

C'mon now. You're entitled to your own opinion but not your own facts.

Kabar...I will support ..meaning not slam down, someone when they speak out against Islam and this administrations support of. That does not mean I support the person, vote for them etc....

There are simply too many who could but won’t speak out...very few will risk the flashback from ISlamist Groups.

I’m not ignorant about Newt...but name even one other besides West who has been direct about Islam.

I don’t care who’s mouth speaks against ISlam..or what their political affiliation is....Islam has to revealed for what it is and there are “MANY” outnumbering those who dare to.

But how can conservatives be against Islam and hope to win the Muslim vote?

I don’t understand it.

They all voted for Bush in 2000 now they vote for Obama.

I’m nervous about losing another voting block to the Democrats.

I condemn terrorism, jihadism etc but lets not be anti-Islam.

Many Muslims love freedom, work hard and are natural conservatives!

Nobody will grab the Electric Rail that is Government Entitlements, so everyone sees the Brown Flood as a way to shore up the crumbling Pyramid.

The problem is that this "brown flood" will hasten the end of the entitlement programs, not shore them up. Robert Rector of The Heritage Foundation concluded that the cost of the 2007 McCain-Kennedy amnesty would be $2.6 trillion just for increased entitlement program costs. And the number of additional LEGAL immigrants who would join those who were the recipients of amnesty through chain migration, i.e., family reunification, would approach 70 million over a 20-year period, assuming there are only 12 million illegal aliens.

Rector will be coming out shortly with his estimate of the Rubio-Schumer amnesty that will top more than $3 trillion when you now include Obamacare. Even immigrants grow old.

The U.S. adds one international migrant (net) every 36 seconds. Immigrants account for one in 8 U.S. residents, the highest level in more than 90 years. In 1970 it was one in 21; in 1980 it was one in 16; and in 1990 it was one in 13. In a decade, it will be one in 7, the highest it has been in our history. And by 2050, one in 5 residents of the U.S. will be foreign-born.

Currently, 1.6 million legal and illegal immigrants settle in the country each year; 350,000 immigrants leave each year, resulting in a net immigration of 1.25 million. Since 1970, the U.S. population has increased from 203 million to 310 million, i.e., over 100 million. In the next 40 years, the population will increase by an additional 130 million to 440 million. Three-quarters of the increase in our population since 1970 and the projected increase will be the result of immigration. The U.S., the world’s third most populous nation, has the highest annual rate of population growth of any developed country in the world, i.e., 0.9% (2012 estimate,) principally due to immigration.

The nation’s immigrant population (legal and illegal) reached 40 million in 2010, the highest number in our history. The U.S. immigrant population has doubled since 1990, nearly tripled since 1980, and quadrupled since 1970, when it stood at 9.7 million. Of the 40 million immigrants in the country in 2010, 13.9 million arrived in 2000 or later making it the highest decade of immigration in American history, even though there was a net loss of jobs during the decade. Growth in the immigrant population has primarily been driven by high levels of legal immigration. Roughly three-fourths of immigrants in the country are here legally. With nearly 12 million immigrants, Mexico was by far the top immigrant-sending country, accounting for 29 percent of all immigrants and 29 percent of growth in the immigrant population from 2000 to 2010. The median age of immigrants in 2010 was 41.4 compared to 35.9 for natives.

57% if immigrant headed households with children are on welfare.

90% of Muslims voted for Bush in 2000

You have a link to those stats?

I do remember that pre-911 Arabs have always been known for voting for the most pro-business candidate and George W Bush was a favorite candidate in 2000. That's very well known.

SOURCE:

Politics

In the 2000 Presidential election, nearly 80 percent of Muslim Americans supported Republican candidate George W. Bush over Democratic candidate Al Gore. However, due to the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq which took place under the Bush Administration, as well as increased anti-Muslim rhetoric from the Republican Party after the September 11 attacks, support for the Republican Party among American Muslims has declined sharply. By 2004, Bush’s Muslim support had been reduced by at least half, who would vote for Democratic candidate John Kerry or a third party candidate.[96] By 2008, Democratic candidate Barack Obama got 67% to 90% of the Muslim vote depending by region.[97]

The GOP should be pro-Islamic.

What exactly does pro-Islamic mean? Support Sharia law? Support the treatment of women in Islam? Support Islamic governments around the world that are almost entirely anti-democratic? Support the global Islamic fundamentalist movement that is initiating violence and murder around the world from India, Nigeria, Egypt, France, UK, to the US? Define pro-Islamic.

90% of Muslims voted for Bush in 2000.

Source please. And what percentage of the total voter population is Muslim? How many Muslims in this country are black? If you think that Reps can get 90% of the Muslim vote in this country, you are delusional.

....”Many Muslims love freedom, work hard and are natural conservatives!”.....

You are free to accept them if you wish...

I am free not to...or take anything they might say with more than a grain of salt..if that.

If they were truly Americans...they’s stop practicing Islam...which is diametrically opposed to our country’s Constitution and it’s values...Period!

In the 2000 Presidential election, nearly 80 percent of Muslim Americans supported Republican candidate George W. Bush over Democratic candidate Al Gore.

Because they are Arab Americans as well and they voted for Bush's pro-business agenda.

Most Somalis (also Muslims) voted for Al Gore. Why? Because they voted for entitlements. There were Somali immigrants here less than 6 months who also voted for Gore even though they were not supposed to even be voting.

You are correct that few politicians will identify Islamic terrorism by name. Even Newt will add the caveat that he is only describing a very small percentage of Muslims and not all of Islam and its 1.2 billion followers. I have never seen or heard Newt identify Islam itself as a terrorist philosophy.

I’m not saying SOME do not... but it’s very dangerous to paint them all like the lazy Democrat voters.

Most Muslims/Arab Americans work hard are educated, run businesses and are naturally conservative but they now seem to be supporting a socialist Obama which is disastrous for them but the Dems know how to motivate and keep a voting block (jews, hispanics and blacks all overwhelmingly vote Democrat).

I am not willing to give up on Muslims or Arab Americans and I condemn bigotry and ignorance of any kind.

The source is playing with words. There are Arab Americans who call themselves "Muslim" if you ask them what their religion is but they really see themselves as Arab-Americans first. They are as Muslim as Ted Kennedy was Catholic. I asked one of them (pretending to be naive) if he believed in Jesus. You know what he said? "Of course! You cannot be a Muslim if you don't believe in Jesus".

I thought that was an odd answer.

Being pro-islamic is merely being pro-Freedom of religion.

Sharia law has no hope in hell. Educate them that the constitution is the supreme law of the land. I want to end all foreign aid and support NO foreign governments nevermind supporting Islamic ones.

One of the biggest moronic things the USG has done is prop up that disgraceful Saudi regime for decades which has introduced the radical element of Islam and made it a worldwide phenomenon through their funding and support of mosques and i think over there Wahibsm is their State religion.

The problem with that is there is no one on the bench to run when Palin is term limited out. The goal is to defeat these people and get back on the right track. If Palin and Gingrich were to team up, they can defeat anyone. The bench is of secondary concern. If you don't like Gingrich as VP, then I would put Gingrich at the top and Palin as the VP. It would give Gingrich 8 years to solve some problems, get jobs created created, balance the bugject, and get out of the mess we're in. Then Palin can come in for 8 years for the clean-up.

We had 80% of it 12 years ago now it’s flipped to Nobama.

I provided the source in response to tsowellfan.
