I like your fight, and this amnesty issue is absolutely critical.

Our supposed ‘real conservative’ leaders are either taking a pass on the issue—e.g., Gov. Palin—or have turned up on the permanent-Democrat-majority opposition team—e.g., Rubio and Rand Paul.

It’s got to be a grassroots effort from the ground up it seems. Where do we go from here? Contact all reps? Write to the press? How can we get the tea party machinery oiled up for this? Can Free Republic play a role, if only to get FReepers activated?

All these things you say, and you’re right, the grassroots are the key to it. It’s how we took down the last amnesty effort in 2006 and 2007, when the Republicans in the Senate, like now in thrall to the cheap labor and neocon lobbies, tried to ram an amnesty and H1B increase through.

But the grassroots mobilized, calling and writing emails and letters just about every day. And it worked, because the Reps became terrified that they’d be primaried, or turnout would be low for the general election, or the public humiliation would endanger their consultant jobs after office.

Passion is the key to success in politics, and on the other side, our elected reps fear a fuss, public humiliation and an uproar from the base more than anything else. If it becomes clear that they’ll suffer humiliation and electoral defeat, or even just an uncomfortable series of news cycles if they press with something unpopular (especially passionately unpopular), they’ll back down.

I remember reading how in 2006 and 2007, the Senators and Congress members reported how the calls, emails and mailed letters were coming in 100:1 against the immigration reform bill, and so they backed down. This does work. It has to be sustained and intense, though, single-issue style. And it has to be full-spectrum, not just contacting their offices but going onto the radio shows, writing letters to the editor, supporting primary candidates against the RINO traitors and thus making warnings for any GOP representatives who even consider supporting this betrayal (or don’t oppose it hard enough). An interesting sidelight is that the Democrats have their own reasons for opposing this bill, which many in Congress already are, and the Dems I know also hate it for bringing in cheap labor when the economy is still crap. (And they are blaming Obama for not doing enough this time, so there’s also an element of political opportunity for us here.) It’s all about passionate opposition, sustained day after day, and organizing, being creative with the ways that we make ourselves know, and attracting media attention to the grassroots efforts.

I’d like to see some of our reps start peeling off the good enforcement nuggets (e.g., cracking down on the overstay of visas) for small votes, leaving the monstrous shell of the bill by the wayside.

NTL REVIEW/DAVID HANSON----The Tsarnaev brothers have offered us a teachable moment about what have become near-suicidal US immigration policies. Unless the government can assure the public that it is now enforcing immigration laws already on the books,

(1) that foreign nationals must at least avoid crime and stay off public assistance, and,

(2) that it is disinclined to grant "asylum" (free ride on the US gravy train) to “fearful refugees” from war-torn Islamic regions and then foot the bill for them to go back and forth between America and their supposedly hostile homelands on the taxpayers' dime,

.....there will be little support for the current immigration bill.

The Capitol Hill amnesty Gang clearly is marching in lockstep w/ violence-agitators---like La Raza and the rest of the ethnic-solidarity con artists. The following excerpt means the Boston bomber brothers, latino drug lords, and their criminal enforcers, all get a free pass.

(pp. 92, 120 of reform bill)........illegal aliens would be granted amnesty for their crimes....while US government employees (sworn to faithfully discharge their duties) who uncover Social Security fraud, ID theft, or perjury on I-9 forms while reviewing applications for provisional status would be prohibited from notifying L/E, etc. If they do report crimes, they could be fined $10,000......10 times more than illegals' $1,000 penalty for felony identity theft........

The bomber brothers' lavish style could not have been financed merely w/ welfare checks. A look at Tamerlan's reading list on Amazon shows several books on forging new identities (each identity pocketing US govt freebies).

TAMERLAN'S READING LIST--PUT THIS IN YOUR BROWSER
http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/registry.html?ie=UTF8&type=wishlist&id=1PNVMAW2D4CT1

Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the 26- year-old Chechen terrorist killed in a wild shootout with Boston police, was a legal US resident. He could have been sent back to his homeland after a 2009 domestic violence conviction (wasn't his wife--the bum hit his grlfriend).

BUT thanks to Obama’s sucking up to ethnic solidarity terrorism, the prez sap-happily decreed that "deportations" are limited only to foreigners who committed “serious crimes”----Obama allowed the bomber to stay and do his dirty work.

==================================================

Forging new identities is common in the latino community---the latino Washington state rapist had some 30 identities. The latino who scammed $3.4 million UI benefits used multiple identities.

NJ BERGEN RECORD CIRCA 2004---Pelcastre brothers, Angel and Jorge, Dallas, Texas, were a walking threat to US national security, expert document forgers who, for a few thousand dollars, could give anyone a new identity (many latinos establish multiple identities in order to ride the US gravy train).

The Texas brothers were a "one-stop shop" for a myriad of fake US documents, including birth certificates, Social Security cards, driver's licenses----for any state in the US------ passports and resident alien cards, said NJ state police.

The Texas brothers turned a NJ hotel room into a business office and were readying a massive cache of fake Social Security cards for delivery to a local NJ identity broker. Officers happened upon two cars bearing Texas plates in a NJ hotel parking lot.

The Texas brothers were followed to a NJ office supply store nearby where they purchased computer supplies. Officers then followed the Texans to a NJ storage facility in Secaucus, NJ, where the Texans loaded several boxes into a car. One of them stood lookout. After a search, police recovered laminating sheets with built-in security features, pages of blank documents waiting for fake names and information, finished documents, computers and software to create the fake IDs.

All told, the haul was worth about $500,000 on the street when sold to "impoverished illegals." Police also recovered $6,000 in cash, which was the first payment from a NJ fake document broker for a shipment of 500 phony Social Security cards. ####

(GAG) MEET THE NEW CITIZENS---- NY POST EXCERPT--- Mexican cartels dispatch agents deep inside US - spread into non-border states

CHICAGO (AP) — Mexican drug cartels whose operatives once rarely ventured beyond the US border are dispatching some of their most trusted agents to live and work deep inside the United States — an emboldened presence that experts believe is meant to tighten their grip on the world's most lucrative narcotics market and maximize profits.

If left unchecked, authorities say, the cartels' move into the American interior could render the syndicates harder than ever to dislodge and pave the way for them to expand into other criminal enterprises such as prostitution, kidnapping- and-extortion rackets and money laundering.

In Mexico, the cartels are known for a staggering number of killings — more than 50,000, according to one tally. Beheadings are a signature. So far, cartels don't appear to be directly responsible for large numbers of slayings in the United States, though the Texas Department of Public Safety reported 22 killings and five kidnappings in Texas at the hands of Mexican cartels from 2010 through mid- 2011. Still, police worry that increased cartel activity could fuel heightened violence.--SNIP--

In Chicago, narco/cop Commander James O'Grady, said street-gang disputes over turf account for most of the city's uptick in murders last year, when slayings topped 500 for the first time since 2008.

Although the cartels aren't dictating the territorial wars, they are the source of drugs. Riley's assessment is stark: He argues that the cartels should be seen as an underlying cause of Chicago's disturbingly high murder rate. "They are the puppeteers," he said. "Maybe the shooter didn't know and maybe the victim didn't know that. But if you follow it down the line, the cartels are ultimately responsible."

=============================================

A FREE PASS FOR BEHEADINGS Viscious Mexican drug cartels behead people who try to stop them. The Mexican drug lords are partners in financial arrangements with Hamas and Hezbollah terorists. The savage terroristss will be empowered to expand those partnerships via The Schumer-Rubio amnesty bill, and Holder is aiding and abetting the terrorist schemes. It’s a small step from blanketing America w/ marijuana and heroin to aiding and abetting Hezbollah terrorist operations. To these hardened criminal, the profit motive rules, no matter the source.

3. Get Jen Rubin replaced on the Washington Post's opinion page, something that we, as conservatives as opposed to the general readership, actually have the power to do....

Jennifer Rubin, someone pointed out in the last couple of years, has been strongly conservative .... on 50% of the issues.

Remember that she replaced a monumental liar and fraud in The Weasel Wiegel, who was the Post's "conservative" columnist, reporting on the conservative movement from "inside" .... but it was all a put-up job and vile fraud. Wiegel finally "came out" screaming in a social net forum that he was sick and tired of giving ink to views and people he utterly, utterly despised to their core.

It was the Washington Post that got pantsed, and their readers should have sued them for civil fraud.

But Rubin's track record is no surprise, given the "mission" that she fulfils in the wake of Wiegel's malodorous departure, which is still to defraud, deceive, and betray.

For more of Rubin's track record, metasearch on her name, and you might start by cross-referencing her name with Sarah Palin's and that of Commentary magazine, with David Frum, and with Gawker.com, all of which fascinated, three years ago, over why East Coast urbanites, even supposedly "conservative" ones like Jennifer Rubin, just hate, hate, hate Sarah Palin and everything she stands for: conservatism, Middle America, Flyover Country, individualism, all the old American values vice the urban fascinations with services, support, dependency, and the Seinfeldian minutiae of pointless megalopolitan lives lived in tiny little apartments.

It’s hard to field primary opponents to the useless incumbents because the American people require name ID as a pre-condition for voting. That makes Loveable Lindsey a likely shoo-in.
