Bill Clinton: “You’re way better off with a shotgun than an assault weapon. Trust me.”

Been getting our self-defense and firearm-selection advice from our esteemed vice president, have we? Or, would that be just our talking points? Via the Washington Examiner:

If you live in a city and you think you need protection of your home, you’re way better off with a shotgun than an assault weapon,” Clinton added. “Trust me. It’s not even close.

Groan. For the umpteenth time — yes, a shotgun is a very solid choice for in-home self-defense, but for goodness’ sake, stop trying to discount AR-15s and their ilk as an defense option because of your eagerness to discredit its possible uses and classify it as an “assualt” weapon. What a criminal can assault a law-abiding citizen with, a law-abiding citizen can just as easily deter and defend against criminals.

Dear Mr Clinton, even if you’re right, its still each citizen’s choice what weapons s/he chooses to purchase. It is not your choice, nor is it the government’s. See US Constitution. Thank you.

You'd think so, but then you'd be wrong. The statists realize that their personal powers, and secret knowledge, far surpass that piece of parchment Constitution, which some unknown professor says is written in a language so archaic that nobody has understood it in the last 50 years.

We are fortunate to have the world's leading authority on home protection, and the second-smartest male in history to lecture us about the benefits of using a shotgun, assuming they permit us to own anything in the way of weaponry.

Uncle Joe first praised the double-barrel shotgun as more then we'll ever need, because bad guys surrender when you fire that first shot into the air from the back porch. But then he also said that the bad guys would surrender just at the sound of a pump action chambering a round. What's the better form of wisdom, considering they both came from Mr. Shotgun himself?

The best I could come up with was a form of bipartisanship. A single-barrel 12ga shotgun with two tubular magazines:

Aside from a few mods I made to the Kel-Tec KMG for my own comfort and preferences, the shotgun itself is set up to handle six 3" shells in both magazine tubes, with a lever to change from one "tank" to the other. I have great expectations of using the Mexican "shorty" shells also. This should give a total capacity of about 25 rounds, with one in the chamber, although if kept empty, I always have that magical "chunk, chunk" sound of chambering that first round.

Thank you for being so frank about so serious subject, Mr. Biden. I just don't know what I would have done without it, except go with something more inappropriate, like my sub-MOA AR-10.

My shotgun has a whole lot more kick than an AR15. Both have their uses, but fortunately we have a Second Amendment. My right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. That means I get to decide what firearms to use in my own defense. It’s not like the size of soft drink I can buy, which is within Bloomberg’s power to regulate when he knows better than I do how thirsty I am. This is a God-given human right, and government lacks the authority to infringe on this decision even if Clinton, Obama, or Pelosi thinks I’m wrong in my choice.

Shoot! I was in the Army, and trained with and USED the AR15/M16. Why should I trust Clintoon, who, as far as I know, never fired a gun in anger?

I have been researching the best ways to overcome the balance of any confrontation of a superior armed force or superior numbers.

And usually it boils down to what they fear the most and thats long range standoff weapons, the further the better.

They train for confrontation against assault weapons, I will train otherwise. Like Quigly said, “Doesn’t mean I don’t know how to use one”. We can and should fight for assault weapons, but there is better alternatives for an edge.

Let me know if the messkin ammo works..... 25 rounds in that will make me jealous .

A Benelli M4 with a XRAIL was my Uncle Joe (who has touched us all, albeit inappropriately ) with the suggestion to buy a shotgun.

Taking firearms advice from a polidiot is like taking birth control advice from a bowling ball return. Yet Joe the village idiot did good.

That KSG is on my wish list. Let me know how and what etc .... Very interested in your trusted review !

Stay safe...

Then why do the people who surround YOU have AR's? (Armalite rifles)

Sturmgewehr in WWII defined the “assault” rifle.. and many others were/are not belt fed.

Check military’s definition, ok.

For example, A full auto capable AR-15 is indeed an assault rifle, and it is magazine fed.
