NEW YORKFormer President Bill Clinton and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced a new climate initiative Monday to help cities measure their risk for severe weather and natural disasters. The hope is to help curb the impact of deadly storms like Superstorm Sandy, which devastated parts of New York City last October.
The project will be run through C40, a coalition of major cities around the world that united to study the impact of climate change on their municipalities. The group, chaired by Bloomberg, merged two years ago with the Clinton Climate Initiativean offshoot of Clintons philanthropic foundation.
Known as the C40 Risk Assessment Framework, the "climate risk" project, as Bloomberg referred to it, would develop a consistent set of measures by which cities could assess their risk of a natural disaster, including hurricanes and floods.
Cities simply cannot afford to close their eyes and hope for the best, Bloomberg said, as he and Clinton unveiled the project during a meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative in Manhattan.
If you cant measure a risk, you cant manage it, Bloomberg added, warning that a damaging storm like Sandy could happen again.
Bloomberg and Clinton argued that having a consistent measure of risk would help lawmakers prioritize on where to spend money to ward off natural disasters and sell voters on why infrastructure is necessary. Among other things, the framework would examine a city's potential for flooding or other issues related to the environment.
A framework "gives legislators something to hang their hats on ... an independent measure of what the risks are, Bloomberg said.

I guess this is better than these two old perverts “unveiling” young interns.
We have a BIGGER RISK from Democrats!!!
I thought he was supposed to be a mayor, not a climate scientist.
So a couple of politicians get together, and come up with a idea to pay a couple of politicians to get together and talk about the weather, all for the children of course!
Everybody is a climatologist these days. ;-]
Jerry Brown blames climate change for state’s early fire season

Everybody is a “Climate Scientist” now a days .... just give them a Ivy League education, a tin foil hat and a jug of Kool-aid and you have an instant expert.
let me help them out.
cities on the coast East Coast and the Gulf have hurricanes.
The Midwest has tornados.
Rivers and low lying areas sometimes flood.
In some places, it gets hot, other places, it gets cold.
and, ain’t nothing politicians can do about it, except spend other peoples money to buy votes

contrary to reports of global warming, the earths temperature has actually been gradually cooling for the past 15 years as part of a regular 30-year heating-and-cooling cycle that has been observed for the past 500 years;
the Antarctic ice sheet is growing, not receding;
sea level is increasing by an imperceptible 7 inches per century, not the 20 inches thats been reported;
snowfall isnt decreasing in fact, in four of the past five years, record snowfall levels have been reported;
carbon-dioxide not only isnt causing global warming but it is physically impossible it ever could;
severe weather patterns are not becoming common; and,
the oceans are not becoming dangerously acidic.
Money, money, money! And here I thought king hussein said sooner of later you’ve made enough. Guess not.
LOL. Good old Bill. Not quite ready to see Al Gore make off with all of the Climate Change loot. In earlier days (and maybe still) this would be referred to as muscling in on Gore’s territory. Too little, too late I’m afraid. He needs to jump on the next Big Bandwagon: Global Cooling.
About fifteen years ago, a wise aunt of mine, a New York Italian, brought up on Broadway shows, and her father, a defense lawyer, and who attended Catholic school from K through college graduation, and also attended Ted Kennedy’s wedding (by crashing), and who remained Conservative from K till even now, kept all her friends, even the liberal ones to whom she regularly dishes dirt, said to me:
“these Clintons, these horrible Clintons; they are never going to go away. Form the White House, they’ll have to drag Hillary out by the ankles, but after that, you won’t ever see the end of them”
Listen to these wiseys. They’ve seen a lot and they know what they’re looking at, here.
Is Bill trying to get clear of H! in the news.
Surf’s up?
They really care, don’t they?
Are there still people living in shelters after Sandy?...um..yeah.
Hey clintoon... you have single handidly caused more damage on Earth than any climate change since man evolved.
LLS
And the planet has been going through climate changes for millions of years. There is not enough money to tax the population to change the climate. To paraphrase George Carlin on the save the planet people- The planet will be here long after people are here.
Once again Slick shows that it’s possible to be raddled with STDs and still make absolutely no sense:
“Ah think if we throw even more money at it, a weather machine could just work. What ah mean to say, they laughed at Seward, Fulton and Red Skeleton, raight? OK, same pairadimes. But they ain’t laughin’ at my ‘wife’, is they. No sir. Heh.”
