Well a stopped watch is right twice a day...

I dumped cable many years ago but something like this that would allow me to choose just the few channels I wanted likely would have prevented that. If this were to pass it may even end the liberal monopoly of television programming as consumers would have the power to drop the whole channel when they went too far.

television needs to be free... let sponsors carry the load and charge the consumers for their advertising.

i am tired of paying thrice... once for the privilege of having the signal come into my house, and then having to watch commercials and THEN paying higher prices for things because of the cost of interrupting my programs.

We pulled the plug on cable. So happy to do so. Our children have played outside for hours every day since. Well, it helps when we ban them from the xbox.

I have had it with paying for propagandists that hate what is good and love what is evil.

Mind your own business McCain. The country is broke, the system is broke, we are being invaded and attacked, the Constitution is gone and THIS is important?

God help us.

so instead of paying 100 dollars for 100 chanels you will pay 10 dollars for 20 channels.

The solution would be to make contracts that require must carry clauses illegal. If you want espen you have to take espn 2-15,

Who the F does he think he is? Is he going to introduce legislation to mandate what is in a happy meal?

Cable TV is not a utility. It is not essential to life. In fact, there is not a single “exclusive” cable contract in the country. If you wish to spend the money to build cable plant, and you agree to the terms of the agreement with licensing agency, you too can build a cable system.

The cable TV/Broadband plant was the largest privately funded construction project in history.

The government has no business sticking their nose into that business. If unbundling was profitable, they would have done it years ago. This is simply clear evidence that these idiots have no idea how to run a business.

F McCain. He is the biggest idiot of them all.

Don’t get your hopes up, there is an old trick politicians have used for decades, they introduce a bill they know will go nowhere and wait for the target to ‘contribute’ to his coffers.

John McCain has too much time on his hands, now that he has solved all the other problems the country is facing.

He’ll give even more power to the networks. Tiers exist because that’s what the networks want, they push bundles, cable companies sell to us the way the networks want it.

I would like to pay for tv, by the day. I only watch something important a few times per year.

My wife uses it to go to sleep, and I can give her that from streaming “over the top” options, like Netflix.

"John McCain wants to unbundle cable..."

Great idea McClame. How about we unbundle legislation while we're at it? That way we won't have absurd, irrelevant riders tacked on to necessary bills....

I’m all for unbundling. I won’t have cable/sat again until I can pick just the shows I want.

BUT...I’m even more for John McCain and the rest of the incompetents in DC keeping their $##&%#&^# hands off the private sector.

I dropped DirecTV a year ago, I don’t care what pricing Cable/Satellite tv has anymore, I’m not buying. I refuse to have my hard earned dollars support and fund the Lamestream media - who I consider an Enemy of Freedom, in any way period.

McCain promised to do that before he ran for president in 2008!

Then, he got sidetracked by some related to baseball drug testing.

Priorities, ya know.

I don’t get it. “Legislation To Stop Bundling.” Sounds like the Fascism of a government telling business how to do business. How is that different from passing legislation to tell doctors how to provide healthcare ?

If a business wants to use a model other than bundling, what’s stopping them ? Why does Senator McCain want to use government to dictate how business is run ?

How are cable companies a monopoly, when there is satelite and internet options ? The Senator is about 15 years behind the curve on that one.

I could be wrong, but I don’t see how any of this is Federal government business.

If our government really wanted to serve the people's interest there would not be any taxes on interfamily communication such as phone services.

I don't see any Republicans proposing something as simple as that, instead they want to play games with regulations on nonessential luxuries like the boob tube.

I think there is another motive. When McSlimes Amnesty Bill gets through, the Mexicans will only have to pay for the Spanish Stations.

He should offer it as an Amendment to the Immigration Bill and eliminate the need for another Obama Signing Ceremony.
