Getting news from over seas.
There is a key paragraph that just makes no sense
"Holder said that he recused himself from the making the controversial decision to subpoena the phone records of Associated Press journalists, saying that it was made by Deputy Attorney General James Cole. "
Why would he do that at the time?????????????????? Is there some connection we don't know about

If DoJ was secretly gathering info ‘on leaks’ from AP, I would suspect that other ‘news’ organization probably received similar secret scrutiny.
This might turn out to be another tip of an iceberg.

Lawyers don’t just write their own subpoenas. then go out and serve them. A subpoena requires a judge’s signature doesn’t it?

Holder said that he recused himself from the making the controversial decision to subpoena the phone records of Associated Press journalists, saying that it was made by Deputy Attorney General James Cole. Which, in RATspeak, means Holder did it.

Agreed. First, it doesn’t follow that if this were such a big deal that his deputy would handle it.
Second, the AG is required to handle it in such circumstances by regulation.
Third, if his deputy DID handle it, why is Holder recusing?
There’s a whole lot of sumpin dat ain’t right.
To: RummyChick
So Holder isn’t accountable or his subordinate’s actions? Then why are companies held liable for their employee’s actions in lawsuits? You’re a liar just like your boss, Mr. Holder.
To: RummyChick
Oh Holder is totally believable in this character.

This has all of the earmarks of an Axelrod operation, complete with an undocumented Obama approval.

It is truly amazing to watch this Administration’s “Leaders” of Departments consistency take NO responsibility for anything. This has got to be the LAST straw for them! If their Deputies are all doing such stuff, it is because of FAILED LEADERSHIP! Call for all of their resignations, call for massive investigations! Call for IMPEACHMENT!

Holder’s underlings now are instructed to fall on their own swords.
Typical fascist conduct. Loyalty Uber Alles.
One of those underlings will have to be turned to get at Holder. Holder is the worm in the pie.

If it was such a very very very serious event why wouldn’t Holder just go through proper legal channels to get the records?

A fish rots from the head down.
Like-minded people are hired and they know the deal.
They know what will please their higher-ups.
And they do things knowing they will be quietly ignored.
Orders dont always have to be given.
